Aelin stood up and began walking, beckoning for me to follow. She took me outside to a beautiful garden. A massive beast with black scales was sat sniffing at a flowered bush and walking towards us was a woman with flowing white hair, a blood red cape snapping in the wind behind her.

The bond tightened as a winged male glided down next to her. I was already running. A broken sob escaped me as I slammed into him, holding tight.

"Shh, you're ok, I'm here"

I was full on sobbing now, my legs threatened to give out, but Rhys just gripped me tighter.

"I thought I had lost you, the bond, I couldn't feel it."

"I know, it's ok, I'm here."

"Feyre, who's the handsome male?"

Rowan let out a snarl "Last I checked Fireheart, I'm your mate."

I turned around with a small smile on my lips.

"Aelin meet Rhysand, High Lord of the Night Court, my mate."

Lysandra let out a squeal "Ohhh, I like your eyes, let me try them out." in a flash she had turned into a perfect replica of Rhys, I laughed, and he looked surprised.

"Um, Lysandra, you went a little far."

She looked down at herself "Oh, hang on" in another flash she was back as herself but with Rhys's eyes. Rhys smirked.

"I like her."

"What is a High Lord" it was Rowan that spoke, Rhys answered for me.

"Where we are from our home is split into courts, each court has a High Lord, like a king, but while a king has power the High Lords are power, it is our job to protect our citizens and our word is law. Only my court is blessed to have a High Lady" he smiled at me.

"So, you're like me?" Aelin was smiling.

"I guess I am."

A flash of light behind me had a man with black hair and ice blue eyes appearing.

"I should have guessed you would be close by" Aelin was talking to the newcomer now.

"Well after Manon nearly gutted me again, I thought it would be best if I came as well."

"Really Manon, you can't just go round threatening to gut people."

I didn't listen to the rest of their conversation, I was staring at the woman, Manon, her power was reaching out to me and I could tell she felt it too.

I knew Rhys was talking to me, but I wasn't paying any attention to it.

Manon walked over to me and I pushed out of Rhys's grip to meet her halfway. Once we were stood face to face, I held my hand out, a tendril of darkness weaving through my fingers, she reached out her hand and we interlaced our fingers, my shadows now curled down her arm.
