XXI

Last days at the Villa have been amazing, but melancholic. Thinking we will have to leave this house tonight is sad.

This experience made me meet so many wonderful people, we made connections and of course I met Louis, no words to express how grateful I am to this show.

We bought some clothes this morning, for the big finale.

I look at Louis while he's putting on is tuxedo, looking handsome as always.

I can't help but feel a bit anxious about what the future holds for us. I am still studying, he has a full time job far from me, it's not going to be easy, we haven't seriously talked about it yet.

I wonder who's going to win, everyone bets on either me and Louis or Jenna and Alicia.

I would like to win, money would be helpful, but I'm happy either way, I came here to find love and I found it.
Nothing was forced between us, it just naturally happened. I like to think it was fate that made us meet.

Louis gives me a peck on my lips, I smile at him.

"Are you ready, babe?" He asks me, holding my hands.

I nod and we start walking towards the firepit, where they prepared everything for the big finale.

"Good evening Islanders" begins Caroline, "the audience has decided. Before starting the ceremony I want to thank you all for participating and making this edition so enjoyable and important, you showed us that love can exist in every kind of way." Her voice cracking like she's about to cry.

We get up and hug her.

"Now, it's time to begin.
I'm going to start with the couple that came in last place."

We are all holding hands while a dramatic sound is playing in the background.

"Coming in sixth place it's Sam and Kyle. I'm sorry guys."
We say our goodbye. It's weird thinking I was coupled up with Sam at begging, so many things happened.

"At fifth place we have Nicky and Lucas."
They exchange a kiss and quickly hug us, before leaving.

"Fourth place goes to Jasper and Carolina"
I hug them, I've built a strong friendship with both of them, I'm going to miss them so much.

"We have the three finalist: Marco and Franscisca, Harry and Louis and Alicia and Jenna.
One of these three couple is so close to win a lot of money...
Coming in third place we have...... Marco and Francisca."
Francisca hugs me tightly and whispers to my ear: "you're winning this."

"Now it's between the last two couples..
The winning couple of this year's edition of Love Island is...." a beam of lights from up starts moving from me and Louis to Alicia and Jenna.
It keeps moving, and moving.

Seems to me like it's never stopping.

I close my eyes, after what it seems like an eternity to me I hear the others clapping and screaming.

I open my eyes, the light stopped on us.

Louis grabs me and starts spinning around: "we won babe" he shouts.

We won? What? How?
I came to this experience thinking I would be eliminated first week and I... I won?!

The others run in our direction and start jumping and cheering with us.

"Congratulations guys. An important moment has come: will you choose love or money? Please each of you now has to take a place either side of the podium." says Caroline.

Louis looks at me, then walks towards the right side of the podium.

Our phones start beeping, the text says: " Harry and Louis, welcome to the last challenge of Love Island. On the podium in front of you are two envelopes. One contains £50.000, the other one is empty.
You must choose one of them.
The person that finds the envelope containing £50.000 will have to decide if they want to keep it all for themselves or share the money with their partner."

I look at Louis, after a few seconds I grab the envelope on the right, leaving him with the one on the left.

We open it at the same time.

Empty.

He is the one with the decision to make.

He thinks for a while.

"Taking your time, eh?" screams Alicia.

Yeah why is he taking all this time, for me it would have been so quick because I would never consider taking all the money for myself.

"I've been thinking about this experience and what it taught me. It made me meet Harry, who is a sweetheart that deserves the most.

I never thought about having to choose between love or money because I never thought I would arrive this far, to the finale.

I've come to the conclusion that yes love is important, but so is money.

I want to split it.

And Harry, I love you too."

I run towards him and throw myself into his arms.

He scared me so much with that long speech, I thought he was going to dump me.

Wait, he said he loves me, I didn't realise it until now.

I hug him so tight I can't breathe properly, but I couldn't care less. I'm in Louis' arms.
