Sabine and Obi-Wan's paths first crossed as younglings in the temple.
Yoda taught them in their small class of 6. The class was only this size because Yoda had noticed the potential and force sensitivity levels of the 6 younglings compared to their former class. The class of 6 contained Obi and Sabine, (the only humanoid younglings), a Wookiee named Baatuk, a orange twiilek male by the name of Setaan, a green twiilek female by the name of Saluom and  clawdite changling often in humanoid form (with no particular gender) by the name of Nami. Yoda noticed from the first day of training the new class, that Obi and Sabine had a higher M count, more sensitive force connection, and closer friendship, than all the other younglings. Yoda would often seperate the two in class activities to spread the talent evenly among groups, but often found the two finding spare moments to glance to each others group, or exchange knowing looks of judgment towards their slower classmates. Yoda became fascinated by the two, paying close attention to them. He knew, the top of this class would go on to become a Padawan under Gui Gonn, his close friend, and knew from this time Obi and Sabine were the highest candidates.

Looking closely at each of their files, he knew  both of their parents had died before their arrival at the temple, explaining their unlikely friendship. Obi wan was a ambitious, banter full, yet sensitive and kind youngling, whos strategies always surpised Yoda. Sabine was similar in ambition and humour, fiercely loyal, and gentle. Both displayed a deep connection to the force, and to each other, though the two were unaware, Yoda knew the force bonded them, and he didn't intend on telling anyone. He patiently observed their behaviours, The way Obi would escort Sabine to her chamber as if to "safety" even though there were no threats in the Jedi temple, and the way Sabine would watch him walk to his chamber as if to check he was "safe". He observed their inside jokes and their secret meditations together they did after most classes. After fifteen lessons with the class, Yoda could sense, even though it was weak, the two younglings were connected in a force dyad, and it would only grow stronger. Yoda felt conflicted, knowing the Jedi ways were not always correct, but that their attachment would threaten the councils views of them, although it made them stronger.
Yoda made no decision Until the day came when Gui Gon entered the classroom. For the classes last lesson as a class of 6.

"Students, a guest we have today, good friend of mine he is. Respect him, you will. Listen and sit quietly, you shall." Yoda stepped to the side of the door as it slid open to reveal the Jedi master Gui Gon Jinn.
Obi wan and Sabine felt and instant draw to him, an admiration and respect, but also a connection within the force. As the class gasped and whispered, Obiwan turned to Sabine to give her the glance that  asked

"Do you feel it too?"
And she responded with the look of
"I do".

This connection was shared by Gui Gon himself, Yoda became immediately aware of it.
"Good afternoon younglings." Gui Gon said smirking gently.
"Good Afternoon Master Gui Gonn" Said the class.
"Your teacher, Master Yoda, has been informing me of your progress. Each of you are very impressive. Very impressive indeed." Though Gui Gon did not inform them of their end goal of finding a padawan, to ObiWan and Sabine it was crystal clear.
Each student muttered and giggled in pride, except ObiWan and Sabine, who remained in awe and concentration at the same time.
Gui Gon turned to each student.
"Baatuk. You must be proud, not many of your species are force sensitive. You have completed your training well, and will continue your classes to strengthen your force connection." The Wookie's head lifted in pride.
Gui Gon addressed every student, until he reached Obiwan and Sabine.
"Baatuk, Setaan, Saloum, Nami. You are all very talented younglings with an eye for strategy and teamwork, but as a Padawans you must learn to team with not just your fellow Jedi, but the force. You will continue your training under master Yoda. It has been a pleasure to meet you, your class ends early today, enjoy a day in the temple." The four cheered as bowed to Gui Gon as they left the room, laughing in the halls as the boasted of Gui Gon's comments on their skills, off to play in the temple. The door slid shut behind them.

Obi and Sabe did their best not to lock eyes and make anything obvious as to their fears or excitements, although they desperately wanted to talk to each other about the situation.
Sabe felt so strongly, her head seemed to say

"Obi Wan, We can do this, no matter what we have eachother."
Without saying anything at all.
Obiwan felt a sense of warmth wash over him as the words echoed in his brain, he seemed to say back
"I know we can, we always will".
The words endlessly comforting Sabe.
Gui Gon glanced to Yoda as if they knew something the younglings did not. The two masters crossed their legs and sat before the two younglings.
"Obi Wan Kenobi and Sabine Spar. Congratulations." Yoda gave an affectionate chuckle.
"You have completed your training and succeeded at acceptional levels, It is time to embrace your destiny as a Jedi as a Padawab learner."
The two smiled eagerly and said "Thank You Master Gui Gon"
