It was Saturday morning, and Win woke up early. He has to prepare for a spontaneous study session with Bright, which he has yet to tell his mom. Last night, while exchanging messages, Bright suggested that they spend the weekends studying for the upcoming examination next week. But what on earth was Win thinking then when he suggested to the Prince to study at their home instead of the usual private study at the latter's mansion. Win thought it would be refreshing as the Prince has always served as the host of their study sessions.
After washing his face and brushing his teeth, Win hurriedly went down and found his mom in the kitchen preparing her coffee for breakfast.
"Mom...," Win opened with his usual soft voice when he's asking his mom a favor.
"What do you need?" his mom replied, knowing full well that her son needs something when he uses that voice.
"Well...I kinda invited a classmate for a study session today for our upcoming exam. So are you fine if we will kinda camp out the whole day in your home office?" it was Win being cutesy in front of his mom.
"Sure. No problem. I don't have anything to finish this weekend. You can have the study the whole day."
"But there's one complication, though..." Win said with voice fading like a whisper, although his mom still heard everything he said.
"What is it?" his mom raising her right eyebrow.
"Uhmmm, you see...the classmate that I have invited is..." Win hesitated.
"Who? Khao? Love?" his mom said.
"Prince Bright..." Win answered with bated breath.
"Whattttttttt? And you only told me now because?"
"It was a spur of the moment thing, you know. We usually study in his place, and I thought maybe it would be nice to have it here as a change of scenery." Win answered, pulling off his cutest pout.
"This is the Crown Prince we're talking about, Win. The house is a mess, and what time will he arrive?"
"Around 11 AM. Don't worry, mom. Bright is really a cool guy. And did I tell you that he actually lives in the mansion in front?"
"Oh my god, Sherwin. So all this time when you said that you're studying at your friend's house somewhere in the village, you actually mean the house in front?"
"Yeahhhh..." Win answered with a grin.
After her coffee, Win's mom immediately asked his older sisters to help set up the living room quickly. Learning from their mom, the two sisters got frantic for the short notice. Good thing that the Ramas aren't really messy, so it was just a quick fix. Sheraton, the youngest, was nonchalant about the Prince's coming and just went back to his room to play with his console.
It was five minutes before 11 AM when they heard a doorbell buzz. Win hurriedly went out and opened the gate for Bright. The tall prince is already outside carrying his leather bag containing his laptop and an organizer for his printed notes and cases. Upon opening the gate, it was Bright's wide smile that greeted Win.
"Come in. We're about to have lunch, by the way." Win invited Bright.
"Nice...free lunch. I have expected this already since you've asked to meet an hour before lunchtime." Bright said with a wide grin.
"It's the least I can do. My mom and Sherine, my eldest sister, are good cooks. So I think lunch would pass the critical palate of your highness," Win teased.
Prince Bright joined the Ramas for lunch. Bright sat beside Win while the other three siblings sat on the other side of the table. Mrs. Rama sat on the side of the head of the table. It was a pleasant and simple meal, where the Prince interacted with Win's mom and siblings. The Prince requested that Win's family drop the formality as he prefers a more casual tone in private.
