Chapter V

Tabek

"Thank you, Timberwood."

After I hugged him I took in a breath of fresh air and exhaled. It's not the best smell but, then again this is the land of the mortals. If I'm to stay here I'll have to get acquainted with my new surroundings.

"Come on Tabek, I'll show you to where I live in this...city." He sprouted his wings and began to ascend. "Try to stay close to me, and it's best if you try to cloak yourself at your best. Humans don't have wings or any other special abilities. So you'll have to learn to hide your powers from them."

With a bat of his wings, he ascends into the air  with a quickness." Try to keep up!" I quickly followed suit and camouflaged myself. Timberwood's speed is incredible. Him being a part of the Forest Fae people has dealt him an amazing advantage on the other air races. The Forest Fae's wings were absolutely powerful.

In a matter of seconds I was flying above him and laughing. "Caught ya!" But of course nothing and now, no being can beat me in any part of the domains. I'm prince after all.

After a few minutes of flying Timberwood flew down and landed onto a balcony near the ocean. I slowly descended after him and sat my things down. "This is my home Tabek, and your new home, if you want it to be. Come on inside, it's time for you to go meet the family and get yourself settled in."

He draped his hands around my neck and led me inside.

Timberwood introduced me to his beautiful family and I found it so cute that they were all just staring at me with curious expressions on their faces.

I smiled in return and introduced myself. "Hello, ...humans. My name is Tabek, Prince of Nature and Earth's only..." I thought to myself well, it has been a long time since I've held that title so I'll just go with," -first Shifter. I'm 170 years old but if I'm to stay anonymous to your people, I'll be at the age of 17 or 18 years. I'm not sure about the age of maturity here but I am a young man now so I'll leave my age up to you to choose."

I heard Timberwood laughing from the side of me and I looked over at him. " There's no need to be so formal, Tabek. They know who you are." They all laughed and smiled after he said that. "I told them everything about you. Also since I'm Fae they got half of my genes, well not really half since the dominating genes are mine. They have all of the abilities and characteristics of Fae people, but their wings are completely white. I don't know if they're going to stay like that or not but it's the only thing that's different."

Oh, the joy of new beings. I love learning about the gene pool of the world.., but if their wings are white they may be a part of the tundra fae's lineage. However, Timberwood's people are of the forest which I find strange since the wings of the jungle fey are indeed dark brown. "Well alright then." I smiled and Alicia held out her hands for me.

"Come on I'll show you to your room before these kids talk your ear off." They all voiced their dissatisfaction' as their mother Alicia, -so unique-, took my hand and pulled me towards some stairs.

The kids groaned as she did this and I smiled. " I promise to answer all your questions when I'm settled. I have a lot of questions as well so don't worry." I told them as Alicia carried me into an empty room. Well not really empty, it had a strange-looking bed, with a small little window just at the side of it.

"I know it's not much but given time you can add whatever you want to inside of it. It's your little space..." she said as I dropped my things and spun around looking at every corner.
