Tabek's POV

Three weeks later.

"Are you ready for your first day at the shop? I bet you're going to have an amazing time there. I'm so happy you're taking on the role, I just know you'd be perfect for it. Have a good day honey." Alicia said with excitement.

Today is the day! The first day I'm going on a real human job!

About a month ago I met Alicia's side of the family and turns out she's the second daughter of two wonderful parents, she absolutely adored them though they were very strict on her. As I'm judging her now in her adult hood, she turned out amazing, albeit her strict upbringing. It certainly did her justice. They passed on to the next life, but I had I the chance of meeting them I have no doubt that they were as wonderful as she and her sister Teressa is. Well done Mr. and Mrs. McNeil.

Teressa was actually the one who came up with the idea for me to start working at the floral shop.

"Thank you, I can't wait as well! See you soon Alicia!"

With that, I took off in the car with Timberwood. With it being so early in the morning, the traffic on the highway was bumper-to-bumper busy. "Almost everyone worked on Mondays..."

Timberwood look at me and smiled, "yes, Mondays here either start off great or they're never gonna get better throughout the day. New Yorker's are some of the most diverse people on the planet. You can almost every race here, and we try to get along because we know it can get crazy very fast. Going throughout the week has proven to be a struggle for some but later is greater, trust me Tabek. Friday is 4 days away."

I laughed, "mind not my outburst Timberwood, but you're beginning to sound like Aero." He always raged about how the weekends are always the best for obvious reasons. There was no homework and he played video games as much as he could.

"These years have pushed my sanity for the human world some, ...more than you may think. Beings, whether human or not, are all the same when it comes down to being civil. A headache at the end of the day, but got to love them."

"Indeed."

"As the traffic slowly cleared its way up I began to wonder at the many different faces I'd get to see today. Not only that but I'd be able to talk freely without the need for Timberwood or Alicia to watch me. I loved them dearly but I wanted to experience things for myself, without them telling me what's gonna happen. When they did that, it drew the excitement out of me a little bit than the times when I found out things naturally or by chance.

"Are you liking your new hairstyle? I know it's a huge change since you've always had your natural long hair all your life."

"At first I wondered why people even cut their hair here at first but, I guess everyone can do what they wanted to themselves, guardedly in the right of the law of course. My hair can and will grow back, so I'm not too worried about it. I was skeptical of the almost bald look but it grew on me. I love it."

" -And it's not a big deal if it's green, since hair coloring is normal. Nobody would suspect anything."

I smiled and nodded in agreement.

"Actually..." he exhaled, "that's what I wanted to talk to you about Tabek." I looked over at him as he continued. "I know you've been out multiple times since you arrived in the human world, but don't be surprised when you see anything out of the ordinary. We're not the only other beings in the human world. There are Witches, Werewolves, Vampires, Demons ...other shifters...I could go on." He continued and looked into my eyes."Just please be careful out there, I know you're more than capable of taking care of yourself but, I won't be able to look at myself in the mirror if something was to happen to you son. And that goes for anyone I love.

Be careful and have a great day...and call me if something comes up!"

I waved as he drove towards his place of work taking in everything he said. Yes, I did know there were other mortals out there. I couldn't tell the difference off the bat, but every species has a particular quirk about them that makes them unique. So I know when I'll run into someone that's not quite human, or a potential threat.

"I don't expect you to understand all the steps immediately but based on the knowledge you already have I'd say you'll be more than fine running the entirety of the greenhouse.

"Sounds great, but will I be able to see the customers when I work from the back here?

"Oh yes, of course, customers will most likely come to you and if I'm not too busy I'll give you a hand with them as well."

"Okay. Can't wait to start!" I grabbed my apron, name tag, and gardening gloves and proceeded to do my duties. I highly doubt I'll be needing the gloves and the apron, but fitting in is my goal.

"And Tabek levitating is not normal, so it's a big no-no.

I placed my feet on the ground still not quite used to the shoes, but I've been practicing wearing them all week. So it's a little bearable now.

Not long after I started my work, the shop's doors started to open and close with customers. The excitement of getting to know the customers and helping them understand what they were looking for in a plant was a breath of fresh air. To know that people find self-growth and honest care, in adopting plants is amazing.

"With this one... The Bird of Paradise, you don't need to leave them in the sunlight for too long. It's perfect for indoors and in low-lighted areas. For its beauty and seemingly straightforward care guide, it's easily one of the most popular plants we have here." I handed the lady the last Bird of Paradise plant and smiled. " In exactly four years, three months, and 5 days she's gonna bear some beautiful flowers."

"Wow, down to the critical details of the day it sprouts its flowers? I'll hold you to that, ..." she leaned in to look at my name tag.

"Tabek." I smiled and waved as she exited the store, "that was fun..." I looked at the clock and saw that it was 2:28, almost 2:30 which is when I take a break.

I'm not tired in the slightest nor am I hungry for any of these plants in here. I guess I'll go out for a walk in the park to enjoy the sun. That'll certainly get me feeling more energized.

As I began taking off my Apron and gloves the door chide went off and another customer came in. I smiled, "welcome!"

By the way my hairs stood up and the new beats of my heart, my senses went into over-drive.

My first Werewolf.
