Karl's POV:
I couldn't help but smile as we locked eyes.

-

"I miss you Nick," Karl breathed into the phone, laying on his bed staring up at the ceiling.

Sapnaps breath tightened at his real name. He too, laid on his bed staring up at the ceiling.

"I miss you too Karl," Sapnap said slightly confused on where this came from.

Karl closed his eyes for a beat, not breaking the silence that followed.

His phone went fully silent. Karl darted upwards and grabbed his phone, which had been lying onto his pillow as he talked to Sapnap.

A battery sign came up, signaling it was dead. Karl quickly plugged it in and waiting a couple minutes before it turned on.

Once the screen flashed a white color he quickly unlocked it and dialed Sapnaps number.

It rang for 20 seconds before going to Sapnaps voicemail.

"Hey! It's Sapnap and I cant get to the phone right now so leave a message and i'll try to call you back,"

Karl hung up without leaving a message and laid back down.

"Fuck," Karl muttered under his breath.

He closed his eyes and let his mind wander, trying to fall asleep.

About a half an hour later, he was still wide awake.

For a couple minutes he tried to resist, or do something other than text Sapnap but he finally gave in.

He opened snapchat and sent a quick message to Sapnap hoping it wouldn't wake him up.

Me
hey are you asleep?
my phone died sorry

After waiting a couple minutes Karl shut off his phone.

Still restless he decided on taking a midnight drive, except it was 2 am.

He quietly walked down the stairs and grabbed his keys from the the marbles counter.

Slowly opening the door so it wouldn't creak, he walked out of his house and over to his car.

Unlocking the car door and sliding into the passenger seat, he began driving.

So late at night there was only one or two cars speeding down the lonely street.

Only with a house scattered every 200 feet or so and only a couple different street winding in different directions, Karl drove straight forward.

About after a half an hour of driving, a gas station came into view.

He pulled into the empty lot, parking in one of the spaces instead of getting gas, as it was already full.

Luckily he'd been smart enough to take his wallet and grabbed it, exiting the car.

Quickly, he made his way to the small convenience store, as his stomach growled with hunger.

The bell above the door chimed at his walked in. There was only one worker who looked extremely sleep deprived in the store.

Karl grabbed a small bag of Original Lays Chips and a rootbeer.

Taking out his money as he approached the counter, he paid for his food.

The cashier gave him a weak smile while bagging his items and giving him his change.
