Rubbing his eyes, Karl picked up his phone.

His tired eyes stung with the sudden brightness. A discord notification from Sapnap popped up and he quickly clicked on it.

Sapnap
are u still awake? we could call if you want?

Fighting off the tiredness, he called Sapnap. He immediately answered.

"Hey Karl," Sapnap whispered tiredly into the phone.

Goosebumps erupted amongst Karl's skin, and a warm feeling overcame his stomach for a second or two. Far too overcome with sleep to respond, he hummed a response.

"oh i'm sorry. You should try to go to sleep," Sapnap said sounding apologetic but regardless, didn't hang up.

Too tired to argue, Karl plugged in his phone and allowed himself to fall asleep while still on the call with Sapnap.

Early morning sun peaked its way through the sheer curtains. The glare of the sun brought Karl back to consciousness.

While still in that in between state, when you knew what was going on but your eyes were still closed, Karl remembered that he had called Sapnap last night.

Sitting up, he grabbed his phone to see if Sapnap had hung up. He didn't.

Even though it wasn't meant to be anything, Karl's stomach erupted with butterflies and his face felt hot.

Seeing as the camera was pointing toward the ceiling, he figured that Sapnap was still asleep.

Karl muted himself so he wouldn't wake him up, and made his was down stairs.

He grabbed a medium sized pot and began making boiled eggs.

Finally, right as he began eating them, Sapnaps voice rang through the air.

"Karl?" Sapnap said, his voice deep due to just waking up.

Karl flushed a deep red, mentally smacking himself to get it together.

It's all so weird. They joke around all the time in flirtatious ways and Karl never thought anything of it, or for that matter, felt anything. Now Sapnap was just offering regular gestures and literally just talking, but now Karl felt weird, as he'd described it in his head.

What the fuck was happening?

"Karl are you here?" Sapnap asked bringing Karl to the realization he never responded.

"Uh yeah im here. How come you didn't hang up last night?"

"Oh sorry I guess I just wanted to stay on, I don't know, sorry," Sapnap mumbled.

"It's okay, I liked it,"

A laugh escaped Sapnaps mouth before he could stop it.

"You liked it?" Sapnap managed to choke out.

"Yeah, and don't act like you didn't," Two could play this game.

"Stop dude, you freak,"

"Why should I? You're clearly enjoying it," Karl has no idea where this confidence was coming from but it left Sapnap flustered, to say the very least.

"Anyways, Dream said he has a stream idea, but he wouldn't tell me what it was. He told me to ask you, quackity, and George if you guys could join at 2 pm," Sapnap blurted quickly.
