Hello! So normally I do author's notes at the beginning of my books, but there are a few things that I want to clarify (which involves spoilers). So if you're reading this before finishing the story...stop, do not pass go, and finish reading before the spoilers!

First and foremost, I want to sincerely thank you for reading "24 hours." It has been so encouraging to receive so much support, and I appreciate all of your comments and critiques! I wouldn't have been as motivated to finish or edit if it weren't for you. <3

Speaking of critiques, if you have any suggestions (from the tinniest of phrasing to mega plot holes), you can pm me or leave comments right here. I will be editing the next few months in hopes of making the story really shine.

The prompts I used were:

Your job is to track down vigilantes and infiltrate their groups, with the aim of gathering information and turning them in to the authorities. You're successful at your job, until one day, a group of vigilantes changes everything. (Prompt 6)

'Your safety is of the utmost importance to us' is displayed on the handwritten parchment letter thrown into your hands previously. "Yeah, sure, except there is someone that just died a few minutes ago!" (Prompt 49)

Second, because I'm paranoid that people won't understand the connection to the main prompt (prompt 6), I decided to include a short explanation of how it relates. The vigilante group mentioned in the prompt is Raven and the special unit of the FBI, not Claude (who is the MC). The reason why the group changes everything is because they killed Shark, the tech expert in their group. I couldn't clarify this in the beginning because that would reveal that Raven is actually good and not a gang leader (sorry...I hope that's not a let down).

I think the part that I most enjoyed about writing this book is getting inside the distorted and paranoid mind of Claude. In the story, Raven never tells Claude he's going to die, Claude just infers it since he thinks they're a gang. He can only form perceptions based on past experience and knowledge which he combines with the current knowledge he receives. Sorry if I'm getting all weird and semi-analytical, I blame my English class xD

Fun facts (as I remember them):

Bledou = double

I came up with the phone number using the phrase "do not trust." So I took all the reversible numbers (flip them upside down and they make a new number) then assigned a number to each letter in the phrase, repeating numbers as letters were repeated. 125-266-8906

I hope you enjoyed reading! Drop me your thoughts down below (if you want) as well as any suggestions and feedback. I purposefully finished this book early for two reasons: first to take advantage of the rush of motivation that comes when starting a writing project and second to leave time for editing!

This author's note is getting way longer than I intended...

Since I like to dedicate my books to stuff, this book is dedicated to all the times I stayed up late, whether it be for a school project, a debate tournament, or because I was too lazy to go to bed (yes, that is a real thing). At the time, staying up late wasn't such a big deal, but the twenty-four hours afterwards were always a living nightmare.

Final word count (not including author's note, ofc): 33,806
