(editors note- sorry about the landon blabber but i promise there's a reason for it just stick with me)
J- Josie
H- Hope
La- LandonJ- "I can't believe it, he's late to a meeting that he set up?"
H- "Well start believing"Hope was already sat at the edge of the docks staring out at the water but Josie was stood not far behind her, looking for any sign of Landon.
J- "He better not be a no-show"
H- "I'm sure he'll show up eventually. Just sit with me for now, it might be a while."Hope was looking back over her shoulder to Josie who was still looking towards the school until she heard the invitation. She hesitated slightly but ended up sitting beside Hope anyway.
H- "He's done this before."
Jose turned to look at Hope, who was still looking straight ahead.
J- "Done what?"
H- "Told me something and then gone back on it"
J- "Like what"Hope paused for a minute and glanced at Josie a few times before looking at her hands.
H- "He told me that he wouldn't break my trust again. But he did. A lot actually."
J- "And you let him?"Hope finally turned to look at Josie properly, because she was both confused and a little mad at Josie for asking something like that.
H- "What do you mean I 'let him'?"
J- "Well... You're Hope Mikaelson. You're kind of a badass. I just don't understand why you would let him get away with that, especially more than once."
H- "I... Its just... complicated."
J- "Thats not what it is."Hope was getting pretty mad at this point because Josie kept pushing for more.
H- "Its nothing."
J- "Its more than nothing."
H- "Okay fine. You seem to think you know what's happening in my life better than I do so why don't you tell me?"Hope didn't raise her voice, but Josie could definitely tell she was angry. She knew exactly what she wanted to say, she just wasn't sure how Hope would react to it.
J- "You're scared."
H- "Scared? Thats the best you can come up with?"Hope let out a light laugh. The kind she would make when she was trying to downplay how upset she really was.
J- "You're scared of losing Landon like you did with everyone else and you're letting him walk all over you just so he doesn't leave."
Josie could immediately tell that Hope had definitely not taken that the way she had hoped she would.
H- "Are you seriously trying to use the death of my family to prove that I have attachment issues? Never heard that one before. Thanks for this fun little therapy session but I think it would be best if we stopped talking."
J- "Hope you know thats not what I was trying to do-"
La- "Uh... Hi."Both girls stopped arguing and focused their attention on Landon. Hope was obviously trying to calm herself down and scrambled to get up and away from Josie.
H- "You're late."
La- "I know I'm sorry I was trying to practice what I was going to say and I lost track of time-"
J- "Can we just skip the backstory?"Josie had also gotten up and was now talking directly to Landon who could tell that neither of the girls were in a good mood.
La- "Well um... This situation is obviously... complicated and I know that both of you have feelings for me and I obviously have feelings for the both of you..."
La- "And I just wanted to say that I chose what should happen and-"
H- "YOU chose?"
J- "You don't just get to make that decision."
La- "No that's not what I was trying to do I just-"
H- "I'm pretty sure that's exactly what you were trying to say, Landon."
La- "Can you let me finish?"Awkward silence fell over the 3 of them
La- "Okay... I was just saying that I like the both of you, you both like me, so I know of need to make a choice."
Hope starts shifting around, seemingly uncomfortable about the whole love-triangle thing. Especially because of the added bonus that Hope also had certain non-platonic feelings for Josie too.
J- "And?"
La- "And, I made the decision."Landon falls silent.
H- "We don't need dramatic tension for this just tell us"
La- "Right, yeah! Uh, I choose... Hope."Josie quickly gets quite visibly upset and Hope seems surprised about the whole thing. Oddly enough, Hopes first instinct wasn't to hug Landon or smile, nothing like you would think. Instead she looks at Josie and upon seeing her reaction and the sheer look of hurt on her face immediately feels guilty. Her anger from earlier about Josie overstepping boundaries seems to have faded.
H- "Jo..."
J- "I'm okay."She wasn't. For multiple reasons.
J- "I just have to... go... Lizzie wanted me for this thing..."
Josie walks away- well she was barely walking. It was more of a scurry- and attempted to hide her watery eyes. Hopes eyes followed her until she eventually disappeared behind the treeline and even then she stayed looking at the last place she saw her until Landons voice snapped her back to reality.
La- "So... Hope Mikaelson, will you officially re-become my girlfriend?"
