chapter 10

A couple days later Kain woke up in his apartment and was immediately overwhelmed with feelings of rage and bloodlust. After a minute the feelings went away. He composed himself and got ready for school. The school day was uneventful just kain on the receiving end of a bunch of hateful glares and stink eyes. Kain just sent them back twice as frightening.

After the sun had set Kain put on his vest and grabbed his 1911 and m16a1. But the night was very quiet. The only things that happened was someone tried to rob a gas station. But kain put a stop to it.

When Kain walked out of the gas station he heard a screaming so he ran towards it. When he arrived at the sound of screaming he saw a a little boy with white hair was getting mugged. Kain grabbed the mugger and put him in a chokehold and snapped the muggers neck. When the mugger fell to the ground and noticed that boy had blue green eyes but didn't say anything but the boy noticed that mark on Kain's arm but thought it was a scar and said

Boy "that's a weird scar."

Kain didn't say anything but just walked off.

When he arrived at his apartment he was unbelievably tired. He was barely  able to take a shower and make a sandwich which he was only able to eat half of before falling asleep.

Later the next day Kain was skipping class by taking a nap under a tree. When he felt a presence near him about to touch him. So he grabbed the person and flipped them onto their back. That's when he realized it was momo and said

Kain " oh shit sorry I didn't know it was you."

Momo " it's ok I didn't realize that you were capable of that. "

Kain " well my dad was a marine raider and he taught me everything he knew. "

Momo " knew?"

Kain " He died in a car crash along with my mother. "

Momo " I'm so sorry I didn't know. "

Kain " its fine. "

Momo " I just wanted to say thank you for saving my little brother. "

It took kain a moment to realize she was talking about the boy from the night before.

Kain " how did you know it was me."

Momo " he said that the guy that saved him had a scar on his right arm then he drew the mark of cain and I knew it was you."

Kain " oh. Well you're welcome. "

Momo " why do you go out at night hunting down the criminal element? And why do you have to kill them why not throw them in jail."

Kain " I hunt down criminals because they hurt the innocent, they don't care about anything but themselves and the reason I don't throw them in jail is because if they got out a month a week a day later they're still doing the same thing as before it not something worse. "

Momo " what about redemption what if a criminal has a spark of light a glimpse of good then you come along and you take it away. "

Kain " from what i've seen redemption is a lie. Because they don't stop they aren't capable of stopping so they postpone it and a year or a decade later they are back to doing the same shit again. "

Momo " does it ever way on your conscience. Do you ever think oh crap I just ended a human life. "

Kain " no. Never because they deserve it. "

Momo " why."

Kain " because the mark is satisfied and for some reason that gives me a clear mind. But it also keeps people like you and your brother and the innocent people of the city safe."
