"Ms. Foster, Mr. Sencen, congratulations, you will be going to detention after school today!" Lady Galvin yelled. Keefe had pulled a massive prank during lunch, and somehow he managed to drag Sophie into it.
"Please Lady Galvin! I didn't do anything!" Sophie pleaded.
"Non-sense," She replied in a snarky voice. Even though Sophie had burned her cape many years ago, the teacher was still very furious about the incident, and often was very biased about it.
"Well Foster, it appears as if we have ourselves a date," Keefe smirked, causing Sophie to blush.
"I-its not a-a date. I-its detention," Sophie stuttered, for some reason that she did not know, Keefe had been making her blush a lot more lately.
"Whatever you say, Foster," Keefe whispered to Sophie, making sure to keep direct eye contact with her. Sophie naturally turned an atomic shade of red afterword's, causing Keefe to widen his smirk.
The way Keefe had leaned down to her, and the way she was able to feel his breath against her face made her heart do flips. Which immensely confused Sophie. Why was she feeling this way with Keefe, when normally the only person to give her stomach butterflies was Fitz?
----------------------
The rest of the day seemed to pass by very slowly, and the dread of detention for Sophie only got bigger and bigger. She was sure that Grady would be angry with Keefe, and that was really bad because he had just started to refer to Keefe as Keefe, not That Boy.
The bell rang, finally signaling that it was time for Sophie to head off to detention. However, she didn't make it far before a blonde boy wrapped his arm around her shoulder.
"Hey Foster, ready for detention?" Keefe asked jokingly, making several heads turn towards the pair. Despite being very embarrassed, she was glad that Keefe didn't call it a date in the middle of a full hallway.
"As ready as I'll ever be," Sophie mumbled, a blush dusting her cheeks.
"Oh stop sounding so down! It'll be fun," Keefe said, dropping his arm from her shoulders so he could walk backwards in front of her, swatting at the air around him, "Even if I was a mile away from you, I think I would still be able to feel the amount of dread your putting off,"
Sophie tried to hide a smile, even though he could be annoying sometimes, Keefe still almost always managed to put a smile on Sophie's face.
"There's the Foster we all know and love," He smiled, walking back to her side
Sophie blushed for what seemed like the thousandth time that day. What was going on?
Keefe's smile is really handsome though, She thought.
"Why the crazy emotions Foster?" He smirked.
"O-oh n-nothing, just thinking about someone," Sophie said, blushing harder.
"Ok," Keefe said, pausing so he could catch Sophie off guard," Who?"
"You-wait, uh, I mean, uh, Fitz!" Sophie nearly yelled, flustered out of her mind.
"Sure," He said sarcastically, "But ya know Foster, you're cute when your flustered. Also, you should know this by now too, you can't lie to an empath." Keefe turned his head to face Sophie as they walked, giving her a model worthy smile.
As the pair walked the rest of the way to detention, Sophie's blush hardly faded. In fact, when Magnate Leto walked into the room he gave Sophie a funny look.
"Because all of you have landed yourselves in detention," He paused giving a small disappointed look, making her roll her eyes and point at Keefe, "You all be managed by Master Cadence, and she will inform you of what to do next," Magnate Leto said before walking out of the room.
