(Not me over here knowing nothing about Kamui Wood's agency and just winging it instead)
I shift my arm a bit as I walk into the agency. It's a large building, like most buildings on this street, but an easily noticeable thing is the number of heroes and heroes in training that come in and out of its doors. Scratching lightly at my wrist, I begin to walk forward. The handcuff is starting to ache, but I don't dare take it off before I'm inside the building.
Knowing my forgetfulness, I'd forget it outside.
Walking up to a counter, I see a reception lady sitting behind it. Moving my arm so I can clutch my case in my hand, I clear my throat to get her attention. When she looks up, I make momentary eye contact before looking away.
"Demitrous Mangopaw Huntre, here for the internship program with UA high," I say, moving my eyes so that I'm focusing more on the floor than her. "Ah yes, Huntre. Please go up the elevator to floor 8 and knock on the second room to the right, he should be waiting for you there." She says, pointing to a hall where I can hear the sounds of people walking.
I nod before scurrying down the hall already worrying. I'm not much of a people pleaser but I do get nervous when it comes to things like this, and she made it sound like he's been waiting this entire time. Going up to the elevator doors, I wait and watch the numbers above them light up as the elevator moves.
When the elevator opens, I end up walking inside along with a few heroes under his agency. They were chatting, but I was keeping my eyes on the case in my hands and the buttons on the side. Clicking 8 after each of them chose their floors, I backed up into one of the walls and waited.
The elevator felt like it took forever, though the heroes didn't seem to take any notice of me anyway. When it was my floor, I speed-walked out of the elevator and onto the floor. Looking around, I thought a bit over her instructions before finding the correct door.
Raising my hand, I knocked lightly.
"Come in." A voice said from inside. Opening the door, I made my way inside and froze.
This is Kamui Wood's office. That's Kamui Woods. And that other person seems to be a hero working under him.
Even though he wears a mask I can easily see him notice the case clutched in my hands along with the uniform I wore. "Huntre Demitrous, correct?" He asks and I nod quickly, not trusting my voice to work. He gestures to a chair and I take it before focusing my eyes on the case.
It seems I arrived at a moment when he was talking something over with someone else because he takes a moment to go back to his conversation. Looking down at the case in my hands and the handcuff cuffing me to it, I hold the lock of the cuff in between two fingers before pressing inwards, watching as the metal bent easily before snapping.
"You know, I had the key for that." A voice cuts through my gaze. I look up to make eye contact with Kamui woods before nodding and shrugging at the same time. He just nods before finishing up his conversation and turning to me.
"So, Mango P.A-23. Welcome to my hero agency." He says, and I watch as the other person leaves. "It's an honor to be here," I mutter out.
"Before we begin training I have a few questions for you." I nod and mess with the clasps on the case before me.
"So, question one. What exactly is your quirk?" The moment the words leave his mouth I freeze. I don't have a quirk, I have an ability processor and it's barely anything like a quirk. I'm surprised I've gotten this far into this world setting with it, but not might be the demise of me.
"If it's hard to explain, just try to state it simply." He offers up. I nod and take a second to think before looking up.
"My quirk is known as Glitch. I glitch." I stutter out in an almost stupid haze-like way. I almost freeze again from the sheer stupidity I can feel coming from myself. He nods and seems to process my sentence before speaking again.
"I see. It's probably hard to explain fully because you may not be fully sure as to what it is exactly. I know a lot of younger children developing quirks have similar problems, though I can see how you are still stuck with that problem due to the nature of your quirk. It sounds complicated, we're going to have to work on that." He says, and I almost drop the case.
That, that right there is a beautiful excuse for something that isn't really there. He's just taking a guess and even if it wasn't a good guess I'd still agree. I nod and strengthen my grip on my suitcase.
"Second question. When referring to you during interning, would you rather be called Mango, Mango P.A-23, or P.A-23?" He asks. This is a considerably easier question than the first one. "You can call me any of them, though Mango is just fine," I say, smiling a little bit.
This is Kamui Woods. I'm having a conversation with Kamui Woods, and it looks like I haven't embarrassed myself too much so far.
"And my last question, though I will admit it's technically not mine, what do you know of the vigilante that helped All Might save one of your classmates during the Sludge Villain incident?" He says, though his voice seems almost less kind and more serious this time.
"I witnessed the incident. I had recently made friends with Midoriya and happened to be near him when he ran into the incident. I saw the vigilante, though I don't know anything about them." I lie through my teeth. Being silent for a second, I add, "They had what looked to be a light-based quirk."
He nods and seems to mutter to himself as he fills out something in front of him. I hadn't even realized until now that he'd been writing this entire time. "That's all. I'd like to see you in the training area in a few minutes. It's on floor 3." He says simply. I nod and pick up the case in my hands before stopping for a second.
"There are changing rooms on that floor." He answers before I can even form the question. I nod and walk out, closing the door behind me and making my way to the elevator once again. This time I'm considerably calmer, and there isn't anyone else in the elevator.
When I reach the third floor I look around at how large the training area is. I now understand why he didn't tell me a room number, the entire floor is a training area. Walking through, I dart to the sidewalls and try to get past the others in the room without drawing attention. I can clearly see the changing area and once I'm close enough I make a dart for the door.
I tried, to make a dart for the door, that is.
"Oof! Hey, you okay?" Someone says as I run directly into them. I take a quick step back and take a moment to analyze them. They're tall, with ruffly feather-like hair in a gray tone that pairs well with their gray-blue eyes. "I'm fine, sorry for running into you," I respond, completely ready for whatever interaction this is to be over.
"It's fine, just be a bit more careful. My name's Hibiki Ayumu." I almost groan, because of course, they've decided that this is a perfect time to introduce themselves to me. "It's nice to meet you Hibiki, my name is Huntre Demitrous," I say, eyeing the door frame behind him for a second.
"I'm in your way, aren't I? Here let me just," They say before moving so that I can get past. I give them a quick thank you nod before walking past. Walking fully into the room, I find a changing stall and quickly change into my plain hero outfit.
Sometimes I think about my outfit design. It's a simple hoodie with pants and reinforcements everywhere. I haven't fully figured out how to match up an outfit that'll help with my powers. There's also the fact that this outfit is more normal weather, meaning there are variations for winter weather and summer weather that I have yet to see.
Shaking off the thoughts, I pull on my hoodie and pants before quickly tying my shoelaces and unknotting my hoodie strings.
Time for some training.
