"SMOKESCREEN!" exclaimed the red mech Knock Out who found himself on the floor after stumbling upon a couple of young trainees of the Elite Guard team who were running along the hallway, one of them chasing the other for some reason. Unfortunately for him, the two 'bots accidentally bumped into him quite hard, resulting in a scratch on his paint-job. He then blamed the blue and white mech Smokescreen for the 'irresponsible' actions that his students displayed in which he assumed that they got the immaturity from their leader. 'Why did Ultra Magnus ever make him a leader?' he wondered.

"Whatever it is, Knock Out. It's no big deal," said the warrior casually as he took a turn from the other side of the hallway, walking a few steps towards the newly-recruited Autobot who just stood up brushing himself.

"No big DEAL?!" cried Knock Out, making Smokescreen winced as his loud voice reached his audio receptors. "Do you have any idea how long it took me to buff my finish only for your trainees to ruin it?" This made the white and blue mech chuckle. Even a single scratch on his finish could drive the ex-con in extreme rage. 'I will have to reward them for that,' he thought. "Oh, now you find it funny?"

"For Primus' sake, Knock Out! There is more to life than your finish. So I highly suggest that you get one," teased Smokescreen as he smirked. His statement just made Knock Out growl and jump at him yet he was able to dodge the tackle, which ended up the medic on the floor. Again.

"Ohhh! Is that a scratch?" The question made Knock Out jump back to his pedes and quickly checked his finish. Not another scratch to be seen. Smokescreen kept laughing at his amusing behaviour. With a swift movement, Knock Out finally tackled the warrior successfully. The mech underneath tried to break free but struggled to.

"What in the name of Primus is going on in here?" questioned a larger blue mech with irritation when he saw the two 'bots on the ground. They both stood up as fast as possible and gave him a salute.

"Knock Out tackled me, sir," responded Smokescreen as he gave out his louder voice with a servo still on his helm when he formally addressed the blue mech yet slightly shaking. Knock Out glared at him. Ultra Magnus then looked at the other mech. That stern look the medic was receiving made him gulped.

"Smokescreen, you're dismissed," stated the commander. "Yes, sir," replied Smokescreen firmly then walked away from the two mechs.

"Now, Knock Out," started Ultra Magnus with sharpness in his voice. "I do not know what kind of behaviour or actions you display here in our base. But it is simply not appropriate."

"But-," the medic attempted to explain but was interrupted by his superior.

"No 'but's, doctor." 'Well, at least he still has some a bit of respect left.' Knock Out thought. "Do I make myself clear?" questioned Ultra Magnus as he leaned his head a little towards him.

"Yes, sir," answered the red 'bot, standing a bit taller with a servo still on his helm. The commanded then nodded and left. "This is going to be challenging," sighed the mech as he thought about how it might take time for others, such as Magnus himself, to completely have their full trust in him.

...

As Knock Out was buffing his finish in the medical room while enjoying the quiet atmosphere other than his buffer buzzing, a former white wrecker Wheeljack, along with a limping youngling which the medic believed to be his student, entered the room with a huge dark oil covering the young one's whole frame.

"What now, Wheeljack?" asked the red mech annoyingly as he had to deal with one of his students once again, putting his buffer away, approaching the two as the young 'bot sat on a berth. 'Those poor things might die from his foolishness.'

"Eh, it ain't that serious," shrugged Wheeljack. "Don't worry too much about it. Besides, this kid had fun." He winked at his student who gave him a thumbs-up while Knock Out checked out some injuries and bandaging them.

"I suppose you're correct," agreed Knock-Out. "But I highly recommend that you take some safety precautions before doing whatever it is you are doing." The comment made the white mech roll his optics.

"What do you even know about safety anyways?" questioned Wheeljack bitterly as he sneered. The red medic looked up at him from whatever he was doing. The young 'bot then stood up from the berth, almost falling to the ground as his teacher caught him. Knock Out, overwhelmed by the question the other mech before him had just made, snapped back away from his thoughts, acknowledging that he was unaware of his patient.

"See what I mean?" ridiculed the ex-wrecker as he and the young 'bot with him made their way out of the room.

After few minutes had passed, Knock Out, who continued to buff his finish, tried to forget about the comment Wheeljack had just made though it struck him straight to his spark. He knew that it was not supposed to be that much at all. It was not supposed to be considered as offensive. But what bothered him the most was how Wheeljack questioned his expertise as if the red mech did not know what he was doing despite the many years he served as a Decepticon medic. Of course, it was hard to ignore that the white mech was very fond of Ratchet, who was currently on Earth for a while. Did he deserve to take the white medic's place?

"This is going to be harder than I thought," stated Knock Out, venting deeply, as he exited the room to gather some of his medical instruments for his shift later.
