{ the day }

Tubbo and I prepared to meet Dream. I was gonna get my disks back. We found Wilbur's old gun and I took it with me. I looked at Tubbo before we left, "Let's make Wilbur proud."

He nodded, "Yeah."

I grabbed the compass that Dream gave us and we set off on the Prime Path. Everyone was waiting along the path for us, waving. BadBoyHalo, the innocent one. Ranboo, the friend to all. Antfrost, the crazy sidekick cat. H Bomb, the peculiar one. Captain Puffy, the loyal one. Nihachu, the sweet one. Callahan, the mute. Ponk, the adorable one. AwSamDude, the genuine builder. Quackity, the one that keeps spirits high. Eret, the brave king. Jack, the one who sticks with you. All of them handed us potions and gapples, helping us prepare for Dream. Tubbo nodded at me after we talked to each person along the path and we walked behind the castle.

Tubbo talked quietly as we got in boats, "I'm not ready. We've spent all this time getting netherite and potions but... I don't want to go."

I looked at him, "It's ok, Tubbo. We'll get through this."

We sailed across a lot of water to get to where we needed to be. I didn't know why Dream wanted us to be so far out. I sighed, rubbing my left arm, "I know I haven't been the best but... thank you for sticking around.

"You've been fine." Tubbo shrugged.

"Thank you... for everything." I said, quietly.

I saw a small smile on Tubbo's face, "It's alright."

We passed a HUGE mountain and the compass started freaking out. We made it. Tubbo looked terrified under the shadows from the mountain, "Is this it!?"

"Oh fuck." I whispered.

We climbed the mountain, next to the biggest waterfall I had ever seen. The water sprayed at my face, blocking my view of the top. The sunrise behind us shined on Tubbo's face, making a gold light around his eyes.

We got to the top. Dream was standing across the land, next to an enderchest. He saw us and stood tall,"Long time no see. How was your journey here?"

I clenched my jaw, "Why did you want us to come?"

"Well, I mean... I have what you want. You've come to take it, right?" Dream replied.

Tubbo tilted his head, "Why here?"

"No one's here. It's secluded. We have time to ourselves, you know?" Dream said, weirdly.

I stepped forward, "You left me a note that said only me and Tubbo could be here."

"It's been you and Tubbo since the start. You and Tubbo versus me? For the disks? Right?"

"Yeah."

"So that's why you're here." Dream stated, getting some things out of his bag.

He started building an obsidian 'tower.' He climbed up and music started echoing through the landscape. Mellohi. The low tones from the music went through my veins like a potion. I shook my head, slowly, "You son of a bitch."

Tubbo and I ran towards the tower, trying to get the disk. I climbed up a tree and jumped behind Dream, as he was occupied with Tubbo. I grabbed the disk out of the jukebox and ran away. Tubbo was trying to hold Dream off as I hid the disk in my jacket.

Dream looked upset, "JUST STOP! Stop! Both of you!"

His tone made us both freeze. He slumped against a tree, "I haven't used any potions. I have strength, turtle master, regen, and more. Your armor's gonna break. Give me the disk, or I'll kill Tubbo."

I didn't comprehend what he was saying, "FUCK YOU!"

We kept fighting, but I only stopped as I heard Tubbo cry out, "AHHH! HE'S GONNA KILL ME! TOMMY!"

I looked over and saw Dream holding his sword to Tubbo's neck. I rushed towards them "DREAM, STOP! TUBBO!"

Dream threw his head back in annoyance, "I'm not even using potions! Give me the disk or Tubbo will be gone for good."

"I have the disk!" I said, loudly.

"I still have Cat... and I have Tubbo. Choose between one of your disks, or Tubbo and the other." Dream stated, plainly.

Tubbo looked to me, holding his bleeding arm, "T-Tommy?"

I ender-pearled to the enderchest and threw the disk inside. Tubbo smiled, "Yes!"

Dream shook his head, "No, no. That won't change anything. I can still kill Tubbo."

I walked in front of Tubbo and whispered, "Tubbo, stay with me."

Dream raised his voice, "Tommy, you can't defend him! I haven't even tried to defeat you yet! Just give me the disk."

"Or what?"

"You're powerless. I can kill Tubbo."

"You wouldn't."

"I actually tried to fight for the first time, and he was hiding in a corner, trying to stay alive."

I looked at Tubbo, "Tubbo? Are you alright?"

Tubbo showed me his arm, which was still bleeding, "Look at me, Tommy. Obviously not."

Dream groaned, "Tommy! I've given you way too much time! Make your decision. Tubbo dies, or you give me the disk. 10... 9... 8..."

"Tubbo, what do I do!?" I said, quickly.

"7..."

"I don't want you to die!" I said, my voice cracking.

Tubbo looked at the ground, "Keep the disk... keep the disk Tommy."

"6... 5..."

"Why!? Why!?" I asked, urgently.

"It'll be worth it." Tubbo replied, innocently.

"4... 3..."

"No!" I yelled, stomping.

Tubbo broke, "TOMMY! KEEP THE DISK! I've done enough!"

"Tubbo, no!!" I protested, upset with how content he was with this.

"I've done enough, it's fine! Keep the disk!"

"2..."

I ran to the enderchest and got Mellohi, throwing it to Dream. He grabbed it mid-air and smirked, "Thank you. HAHA! You're stupid! This isn't even the disk!! You really think that I'd play the disk in front of you!? That's not the real disk! You didn't learn from the last time you got the disk? I'm not an idiot! You think I'm an idiot! You're powerless! I'm playing with you! That's the fun in it! But... you're gonna listen to me. You're gonna die, I'm not playing anymore. Drop the Axe of Peace."

Dream was playing games with me. Again. I shook my head, "You're not gonna kill me."

"Well... not you." Dream said, looking over to Tubbo.

I sighed, "Ok, ok."

I gave Dream the Axe of Peace without hesitating. I wouldn't let Tubbo die. Dream nodded, "Thank you... now. Drop your stuff in the hole."

Dream quickly dug a hole in the ground. Flashbacks from exile rushed around my mind. I started breathing heavily, stepping back. Tubbo threw his things in the hole, and I followed. Dream blew it all up. I huffed, "I stayed up for weeks getting that stuff."

"Hmm. Alright, I'll bring you to the real disk." Dream said, walking forward.
