She was her miracle baby. After thousands and thousands of dollars spent on In Vitro, months and months of waiting, she finally got what she wanted.
Her little girl was her whole life. With golden hair that rivaled the sun and blue-green eyes deeper than the ocean.
She wanted to protect her baby from everything in the harsh and cruel world. So with great hesitation and reluctance, she sent her darling daughter to her first day of Kindergarten.
"Bye Mommy! I love you so much!" The sweet girl exclaimed.
"Bye baby! I love you too."
She hugged her daughter tight and watched through tears as her miracle scampered off, in her pink bow and matching backpack.
Three days later, she was sitting on the couch watching the news.
"SCHOOL SHOOTING AT LOCAL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL. 10 INJURED, ONE DEAD. VICTIMS BETWEEN GRADES OF KINDERGARTEN AND SIXTH. SUSPECT ARRESTED."
The woman watched through tears, clutching the pink bow that now had red polka dots.
