The distant sounds of rioting and screaming were all too familiar to Mobi. It was her whole world.

She layed on the couch on the first floor of Vivienne's house and stared at the wall. She breathed slowly as large tears rolled down her face. She couldn't let anyone know she had feelings.

Feelings weren't taken seriously in her life. Her mother would locker her in her room and threaten her with a gun if she even whined too much. That was before she commit suicide.

Now Mobi lived in a gang consisting of her 3 older brothers and a plethora of people she had no relation to. Of course, being the only woman in the gang had its downsides.

The tears fell faster as Mobi reminisced on the past events of her life. The pain wouldn't go away, no matter how upbeat and happy she seemed to others.

Why?
Why couldn't Vivienne understand her?

This is why the world was this fucked up in the first place. The royals don't even know whats going on.
Mobi sighed and closed her eyes.

Tomorrow is another day.

The smell of pastries and eggs filled the whole house. Mobi slowly opened her eyes and looked around the room to make sure she was safe in Vivienne's house.
She sat up and rubbed the dry tears off her fur. Mobi didn't want to see Vivienne at the moment. But today was the day she would call off work and spend time in her world.
Although they had just had a fight, Mobi knew Vivienne wasn't ready for the danger and horror the world outside the fence held. She feared for her life everyday, and now she would have to fear for her best friend's as well.

Vivienne walked into the sitting room where Mobi had been sleeping. She avoided eye contact and looked at the ground fiddling with her thumbs.

"Hey," Mobi said quietly. She put on a small fake smile and hoped Vivienne would do the same.

She opened her mouth to say something, but closed it before anything slipped out.
Vivienne was always careful with her words.

"You cookin breakfast?"

Vivienne nodded still observing the patterns on the rug.

"Thanks," Mobi said.

She got off the couch and walked past Vivienne into the kitchen. She sat at the counter and spun around on the stool to shake off her feelings.

Vivienne followed her into the kitchen and put on her oven mitts. She pulled out a hot tray of flower shaped cream puffs.
Mobi's mouth watered. It was only at Vivienne's where she could have something other than a raw half eaten fish, or 5 day old bread that was stoled from the bakery. Her stomach growled.

Mobi looked around the kitchen. Her gaze landed on a small cake sitting on the counter. She fought back the urge to ask about it. Vivienne didn't seem like she wanted to talk to her right now.

Vivienne placed all the puff pastries on a decorative plate and set them in front of Mobi.
She took two and gobbled them down. Vivienne then headed towards the stove where the eggs were cooking. She tossed them around a bit and put them on another plate. The crackling sound of the pan could still be heard long after the eggs were taken out of it.
