This is a part of a short story I took out because I didn't want to make it too long.
Love's Just a Feeling- I groan, squinting my eyes as I wake up. I sit up, stretching my arms up to the ceiling. I grin to myself as I remember that I am now engaged.
I climb out of bed and make my way to my bathroom. I splash my face with water, rubbing the sleep from my eyes. I brush my teeth and go over to my jewelry box. I grab out my engagement ring, slipping it on my finger. I admire the small diamond placed in the middle of the silver band for a moment. I smile, grabbing my hair brush out of the draw and pull my hair into a side pony, twisting a few of the front strands. I go into my room and get dressed in jean capris and a blue elephant t-shirt.
I unplug my phone from it's charger on the nightstand and unlock it. I call Nathan.
"Hey, Babe," he answers.
"Hey, Hon. Did you want to grab breakfast this morning down at the mall before you have to be to work?" I ask. I walk out of my bedroom and grab my purse from the kitchen counter.
"Sure! I think that the IHOP is close to where I work. I'll meet you there in fifteen?"
"Okay. I'm just about to head out the door. See you in fifteen. Love you!"
"Love you too, Babe."
I hang up, unlocking my apartment door. I close the door, grabbing my keys from my purse and lock my apartment.
I walk down the sidewalk to my car. I turn on the radio as soon as I start up the car. Dementia by Owl City is on. I don't listen to Owl City much but I do like their songs. I back out of my parking space and drive up to the exit of my apartment complex.
"This is love, this is war, it's insanity," I sing, memorizing the chorus quickly.
I merge into traffic. There isn't much traffic this morning surprisingly. I made it to the IHOP at the mall in about fifteen minutes as planned, my only setback being that I had to move over and stop for an ambulance and a police officer whose sirens were blaring loudly as they raced to wherever the accident had taken place.
I climb out of my love bug. I grab my purse from the passenger seat and shut the car door. I take my phone from my purse and text Nathan, letting him know that I had arrived.
I enter the restaurant and stand in line to reserve seats for Nathan and me.
"Hey Beautiful," Nathan says, coming up behind me. "Our seats are this way." He laces our fingers together as we walk to a table for two. Nathan pulls out my chair and scoots me in before sitting down in the chair across from mine.
"This is nice," I sigh dreamily, staring at Nathan.
"What's nice? The restaurant or me?" Nathan asks, winking.
I laugh. "Us! Getting married."
"Ooh! So I get to wait on a couple of lucky youngins who are engaged?" A waiter asks us fondly as she pulls out her notepad and a pen.
I chuckle as Nathan grabs my hands posessively in his. "I'm very lucky indeed," he says, staring into my eyes.
"Awe! You're not the only one whose lucky, Hon," I respond.
Our waiter chuckles. "What may I get you too to drink?"
"I'll have a glass of chocolate milk, please," I respond.
"Me too," Nathan says quickly.
"Alrighty. I'll be back shortly to take your orders."
"Thank you!" we both say.
"She seems nice."
"Yeah," I respond as I open up my menu. "I think that I'll order a crepe."
"Hmm... That does sound good but I think I'll go with the pancake platter."

"Thanks! Have a nice day."
"You too!"
Nathan and I exit IHOP, heading to my car.
"I'll see you later, Love," Nathan tells me.
"Love you!"
We kiss goodbye before Nathan walks down the street to his work.
I get in my car and pull out of my parking spot. I drive back to my apartment. I don't start work until ten thirty because Jimmy Johns doesn't open until eleven and I have to be there to help open the restaurant.
