Chapter 5.

you slowly open your eyes and Temari is shaking you by the shoulders screaming hysterically. "PURESHASU WHAT HAPPENED WHY DID YOU GO OUT LAST NIGHT, WHEN I FOUND YOUR ROOM EMPTY THIS MORNING I FREAKED OUT! IVE BEEN SO WORRIED AND THEN I GET TOLD YOU'RE IN HOSPITAL. WHAT ON EARTH HAPPENED?!"

she gets pulled off of you and into a hug by Kankuro and she sobs into his chest as he just nods to you with a look of unspoken understanding. Kankuro was good like that, he didn't have to use words with you.

you glance around the room and see Gaara looking out the window. "the chunin exams start tomorrow, make sure you're up for it." he doesn't even look at you when he talks to you. you feel your heart twinge with pain and you look down before grabbing your cloak and putting it on.

"well I'm going to go train then." you get up off the bed and walk out. you don't notice that you pass team 7 who were on their way to visit you. your eyes are full of tears as you run out of the hospital. you run for a while until you're in the woods and find a clearing. "this will be perfect kit" Kurama says in your mind. you mentally nod at the large fox and you begin to follow his instructions for the rest of the day. this fox is powerful and a good teacher and you're a fast learner with a good memory, perfect pair. you just wished you could let him look outside all the time.

that night after you arrived home, you didn't eat, you just went to bed and slept, returning to Kurama. "thank you so much for training me today, I appreciate all the power you are giving me. hey Rama, I have a question. is this in my mind?" he growled at the nickname but didn't protest, he simply looked at you closely before thinking for a moment and then responding. "yes this is in your mind kit, why do you ask?" you smile at him proudly.

"I just have a theory. seeing as this is in my mind, surely I can control this room, edit it and such." Kurama chuckles at you happily, "you want to redesign my prison?" you look at him sadly before looking down. "I don't want it to be your prison Rama-kun, I want you to be happy here, so I thought I'd try and make a window and connect it to my eyes and maybe allow you to see every direction around me, I wanted you to be comfortable and happy until I find a way to free you."

you look up slowly, wanting to see his response. he just looked shocked and then smiled warmly at you. "yes kit I appreciate it, if you could try the window thing then it'd make me really happy." you nod before closing your eyes and concentrating. a blurry window seems to appear, it becoming more and more see through as you focus. it suddenly disappears and Kurama looks at you with a groan "awww kit you were so close, what happened?"

he looks at you and his expression changes from a slight frown to confusion. "k-kit why are you looking at me like that? what's wrong?" you find your voice and whisper, remembering what he told you this morning. "I was just thinking about everything you told me earlier. n-naruto is my brother? I was born in the leaf? I'm not related to Gaara, Temari, Kankuro or Papa? is Maman even my mother?" you look at him with eyes full of tears that are threatening to fall at any moment.

he nods slowly "yes I'm afraid it's the truth, she isn't. " he replies softly. you crawl into the cage and hug his side as you cry. "I- I was a gift of friendship. a child. me. I'm the daughter of the fourth hokage?! not the kazekage?" you sob into his warm fur. he wraps a comforting tail around you and sighs sadly. "it's cruel and unfair kit I know. I'm sorry." you choke back sobs and slow your breathing as the tears finally stop. you look back to the walls and begin to focus again. this time a clear window appears on each wall, most are black from where you are on the bed, but some have a clear view of your room.

you suddenly feel Kurama tense up as he stares through a window. a light growl coming from his throat. you look up at him in concern and follow his gaze. there's something moving around in your room.
