"Kids! Come down stairs!" Hayley shouts up the stairs for her three children. "Lex! Get your brothers!"Standing up off her bed, the Thompson girl exits her newly decorated bedroom and into her brothers' shared, baby blue room to find them playing with their trains. "Blake. Brandon. Mom wants us. Come on."
The two look up at their older sister, stopping what they are doing. Their matching smiles placed on their small lips as usual. "Can we have a carry?"
"Of course." Both of their faces light up at her answer as they run into her arms allowing her to pick them up. One on each hip. "Should we see how fast we can go?"
"Yeah!" They both agree with her suggestion. "You boys ready?"
"Yep!"
"3...2...1...Go!" Running out the room and down the long corridor acting as if they were in a race car. The small giggles of the twins filling the atmosphere.
Down the stairs coming to a stop in the living room. "And team Thompson wins! The crowd goes wild!" The three cheer like they had just won. Their mother stood in front of them a big grin on her lips at the sight of her three kids while Jackson sits there, a scowl on his face as usual.
He is never in a good mood. He never bothers with his two sons, his step-daughter or his wife. Work first. Work was all that mattered. Grumpy. Angry. Moody. His three moods. No others. He never smiles, the only time Alexa has seen him smile was when something good happened at work however it only lasted for less than a second. To be honest Alexa has no idea why her mother is still with him. He doesn't bother with them so what is the point. He also reminds the girl of 'Squidward' from Spongebob.
"What's up mom?"
"Well it's nearly dinner time and I haven't had a chance to go shopping since we only got here today so I was wondering if you would take your brothers to Pops. The small diner round the corner."
"Sure. Do you want anything?"
"No I'm ok." She sends her daughter a warm smile for the suggestion. "Ok. Brandon. Blake. Get your shoes on." She places the two on the floor doing as she says.
Slipping on their, matching high top converse Alexa throws on her black jacket while her brothers put on their blue ones. "You two ready?"
Nodding in response, they both grab one of her hands each as they set off out the house down the street. "Oh look there's a park. Should we go there tomorrow?" Alexa points to the park in the distance.
"Don't we have school?" Blake looks up at her. "Yeah but we can go after. We can have our own little adventure after school."
"Yay! Can we get ice cream tomorrow as well?" Brandon asks hopefully. "If we can find a place. Then yeah."
Turning the corner, they reach the small diner lit up neon red. "That's bright!" Blake covers his eyes. "I can't see!" Brandon squints his eyes. "You two are so dramatic." Their older sister chuckles dragging the two towards the diner.
Pushing open the door, a bell rings above their heads gaining a few people's attention. Inside it's like an old fashioned theme. The Thompson siblings had never been to one before. It was nice. It was cozy.
"Now I remember every face that walks in here but you three I have never seen before." An older, African-American man appears from the back room. "Yeah we just moved here. I'm Alexa. This is Blake and this is Brandon. Or the Thompson trio."
"I'm Pop Tate. Welcome to Riverdale. If you just choose any booth, I'll be right over."
"Which one boys? Yous pick."
