Millie was standing at her balcony, her right hand clasping the freezing cold steel railing.
She exhaled deeply, closing her eyes for a second as various shapes and colors of loud fireworks exploded in the distance.
She turned around and walked back to the glass door leading into her room.
As she turned the handle and entered, closing the door immediately so no warmth would escape her dimly lighted room.
She made her way to her queen size bed where her boyfriend was sitting, a small smile on his lips.
