Troubled heart

Chapter 7: the uninvited visitor

No one moved for a few minutes and the door was still knocking. Finally you grabbed a rolling pin out of the kitchen and crept towards the door. You slowly opened it and held the weapon up high along with a warrior scream.

"Y/N stop". Cried the stranger in horror. "it's me Max". You looked him up and down and finally recognised your step brother, you almost didn't recognise him because he had a black eye and some bruises on his face.

You looked at him concerned. He looked at you and only smiled.

"I am so sorry I thought father had sent someone else to come find me". You remembered the look in the mans eyes when he attacked you, joy and pleasure.

You dropped the pin and Riku came to hold you in his arms and comfort you, knowing the trouble you went through earlier that day.

"who are you to hold my sister like that?". Irritation filling his eyes, while looking at you taking comfort in another mans arms.

"I'm...". He didn't know how to answer, but then before he could, you answered for him.

"he's my boyfriend!" You exclaimed. The room was silent and everyone's eyes were on you, even Riku was staring and he had a wide grin on his face. You didn't even talk about dating yet and you're already claiming to be his girlfriend.

"tch...whatever". He didn't seem to care that much about how you were doing or anything to do with your love life.

"you want to talk don't you". Already knowing what your brother was going to say.

You both headed outside and for a little while there was silence.

"father wants you dead". He said emotionless. You were shocked, why did he want you dead? what did you ever do? Did your brother not care either?

"Why?". You needed answers and there was no way you would be able to find out for yourself.

"because you know what our fathers business involves and if it got out to the police he would be ruined".

"So that's why, because he cares more about his business than his own flesh and blood".

"yes". He said in agreement still not caring about the effect the news would have on you.

Little did you know, the boys were eavesdropping on your personal conversation.

"what does his business involve?" Questioned Tenn. You turned to see the rest of the group behind you listening to the private conversation.

"WHY WERE YOU LISTENING IN?!!!" You screamed. You felt hurt thinking they didn't trust you to tell them yourself and started to cry. You were also quite furious, the conversation was confidential and they had no right to listen in like that. Until now you were having an amazing evening and didn't want it to end.

"I'm going to bed goodnight". You didn't give the group a chance to explain or apologise, you were angry and wanted to be left alone. Yet the door to your room opened and Riku entered.

"what on earth do you want?" Even though you weren't mad at him specifically, you were still mad.

"I wanted to see you, you weren't happy and I didn't think you should be alone. You felt as though you would cry. You had only been together for a few minutes and he was already being a brilliant boyfriend.

"you don't have to tell me now what the problem is, but just know I'll always be here for you".

He was amazing and of course you wanted to tell him, but you were worried that if he or any of your friends got involved they'll get hurt and it would be because of you. He went to leave the room, but you grabbed hold of his shirt and looked down.

"will you stay with me tonight please?". You thought he would reject and leave the room thinking it was weird. Instead he came onto the bed and hugged you while you rested your head on his shoulder. He was a gentleman by wrapping you in a blanket and made sure you were comfortable. It wasn't long before you drifted into a deep sleep.

Not long after you woke up in the middle of the night you noticed Riku missing and thought he went to bed. You then heard something outside and thought to have a look and you saw a horrible sight. It was Max and Riku getting into a fight. You ran outside in your nightgown and screamed at them.

"STOP!!!".

You were on the verge of breaking down, there is only so much you can take and this topped the cake. You fell down on your knees watching the two boys as they took their anger out on each other and gained cuts and bruises in the process. They took no notice of you. It became hard to breath and you tried to tell them, but nothing came out and they still kept punching each other. Then Mitsuki, Iori and Ryuunosuke rushed out to see what the commotion was about outside. You ended up blacking out due to all the stress and exhaustion that had built up inside of you.

You woke up in a hospital bed and everyone was there surrounding you, looking concerned. Except Riku and Max, who hadn't even shown up. The others took notice of what you were probably thinking and looked at each other.

"we don't think they should see you right now". Claimed Gaku, who looked more worried than the rest.

"Why?". Wanting answers straight away.

Before anyone could answer Tsumugi suddenly arrived subconsciously kissing Gaku on the cheek and made her way towards you. You couldn't help but smirk a little, you were definitely not going to let it go and make fun of her constantly.

"what's everyone looking at now?". She asked wondering if she missed something. Gaku blushed a deep red.

"you...you kissed me on the cheek". He whispered slowly going redder and redder, obviously thinking about it.

Tsumugi looked astonished, she didn't realise that she had done such a thing, turning red at that point. She apologised a million times before turning her attention to you again.

"what happened to me?". You were clueless and your visitors were hiding something from you.

Then Tsumugi explained that when you blacked out Riku and Max stopped fighting and turned towards you. Riku held you in his arms praying you would be ok. Max was ringing for an ambulance. While you were passed out in the hospital, the members thought that it would cause you to be more upset if you saw them. The two boys also happened to agree due to the situation, they wanted the group to explain to you that they were fighting because Riku wouldn't break up with you and Max threw the first punch. You were also told that you had a panic attack because of all the trauma and stress you had experienced leading up to the present.

You started to cry remembering you were mad at the whole group and started to apologise, you felt guilty and decided to tell them everything.

"My father wants me dead because I know what his business involves, which is he is a mafia leader in the shadows and owns a bunch of hotels in the light. He will also do whatever it takes to get rid of people who know about his businesses. Meaning he will have me killed by his goons because I ran away". Just thinking about your father was making you feel sick with fear, that fear showed in your eyes as they filled with tears. That worried the young males and your best friend that sat beside you worrying about your mental health.
