Peso's Surprise Birthday Party gone wrong

Disaster

               In the HQ, Dashi and Shellington were putting up decorations in Peso's favourite colour (I'm going to guess) cyan blue. They were just adding the finishing touches when Shellington tripped on the ladder, pulling all the decorations down with him. Dashi quickly pushed a chair towards him and caught him just in time. They ended up having to go to the Sickbay so Peso could treat Shellington's sore bottom. Then they had to start all over again. 

             They were putting the decorations back up when they were radioed by Tweak and Kwazii. "Ahoy there me hearties, Tweak and I are coming back with Peso's presents now." Tweak added, "And make sure he stays out of the Launch Bay and just anywhere with windows. Or he'll see us faster than you can say 'Buncha Munchy Crunchy Carrots'!" "Kwazii and Tweak out. Yeow!".

               After the call ended, Tweak and Kwazii heard a strange noise. Then, something hit the Gup C. "Huh? What was that? Better make sure the Gup's all right." Tweak said to herself before pressing a button on her collar to activate her helmet. In the water, she could see Kwazii staring at the back of the Gup with a serious expression on his face. Tweak stopped before she reached the back. "How bad is it?".

                Kwazii replied, "Well, there's good news, and bad news, good news, there's not much damage, bad news, the only thing that's broken, is the flappy tail thing.". Tweak had no idea how Kwazii managed to say "the flappy tail thing" with a straight face. "First of all, it's called a flap rudder. Second of all, I don't have my tools with me and without the rudder the Gup won't go, so I guess I'm just going to have to let you tow it with the Gup C's towline. Third of all, what caused the rudder to get so bent?" Said Tweak, staring at the very much dented and absolutely unusable what once was a rudder now a hunk of metal-

Sorry, staring at the dented rudder. Kwazii looked around and saw a group of guilty looking dolphins. "Sorry," one of them said. "We were bored and decided to play with a rock, and I accidentally hit it at your whale looking thingy.". Tweak said, "It's alright, I can fix it back at the Octopod. Come on Kwazii, let's get moving.". They both got into the Gups, but when Kwazii started up the Gup B, nothing happened. 

                "Fiddlesticks! I forgot to replace the Gups' batteries!" exclaimed Tweak. "Batteries? As in both of them? You mean even without the flappy tail we'd be stuck anyway?"Kwazii said. Tweak nodded. "Looks like we'll have to swim and push the Gups back to the Octopod. Come one, let's get swimming." "Race you." "No.".

              In the kitchen, the Vegimals got into trouble. With distracting Peso and helping the other Octonauts they burnt the kelp cakes, mixed up salt and sugar, accidentally spilt the drinks, misplaced the birthday cake  and got the frosting everywhere. It was a wonder how Peso didn't even set a foot outside the library for 3 hours straight.

             Captain Barnacles was also having problems, there were big icebergs everywhere, and since he was using the Gup A instead of the Gup C or D, he had no way of breaking through the ice. So the process of getting back to the Octopod was pretty slow. 

              Dashi and Shellington decided to decorate beyond the HQ and to decorate Peso's room, and maybe even the Sick Bay, but they decided not to decorate the Sick Bay since it would be unhygienic and it would give Peso extra work to clean it up and sanitise the place for his patients. But while decorating Peso's room they realised should Peso come in before the surprise it would give it away, so instead of decorating it they just hid some birthday cards under his pillow. Nothing went wrong there. It was when they were distracting Peso that went wrong. Dashi closed off the HQ's windows so no one could see into it and Shellington ran down to the library to see if Peso was there. 

                    Alas, he was not. Professor Inkling said Peso soon got bored as he read pretty much every book in the library (He read about 20 books, and 5 of them each had 3 different stories in them. So Peso read a lot.) and had gone to challenge the Vegimals to a game of table tennis. Shellington nodded and when he got to the Game Pod, he, like Kwazii was astonished to see Peso playing against more than one Vegimal. This time he was playing against Codish, Tominow, Grouber and a blue Vegimal usually only seen in the kitchen called Halibeet (I had to Google for any other Vegimal names because I didn't want to use Tunip as he was taking care of things in the kitchen) and had only Barrot as a partner.

                    After a whole half hour, Peso didn't know what to do next. Shellington quickly suggested that they'd go for a casual swim around and maybe check out the nearby reef. This however, did not go as planned. The two were swimming around the reef, well, Peso was the one swimming around, Shellington got intrigued by a piece of coral, when  a school of fish accidentally knocked Peso into a nearby current and he was immediately swept away. That, was not good. "Jumping Jellyfish...." said Shellington as he saw Peso getting carried away.
