It was around midnight that I noticed something strange happening. Everything was dead silent just as usual, but something didn't feel right. It felt like something was missing, and it was out there somewhere, needing to be found. I acted on my own. I had a strong feeling that I had to find that something, no matter the cost.
Determined, I put on warmer clothes, and went out into the cold night. Everything was eerily quiet. Everything felt like it was in a bubble, Not even a single soul anywhere. I felt like I was the only one who existed. No cars, no lights except the ones coming from the street lamps. I felt the urge to start walking. Something called out to me, but there wasn't anything in sight. I looked around, but there were nothing but empty houses and shadows. Nothing unnatural in sight. I continued walking and I heard the noise again, louder this time. I continued going in that direction, and the noises started to pick up.
There were a quite few of them that I didn't even recognize, but I was so sure I was close to finding what I was searching for. Loud thumps could be heard as I was running. The houses started to disappear, and instead weird shaped buildings took their place. I've never seen this place before, but I didn't worry. I was so close to finding what I've been searching for. At the end of the road, there was a small building, with the lights turned on. I could hear thumping really clearly now, along with heavy breathing.
As I got there, I could fully see the building. It had only one room with a chair inside. I felt the urge to go in and see what was in there. The room was calling me. Like I was in a trance I started to slowly walk towards the door. The room had a faded orange tint to it. It was too dark to see it's surroundings, but maybe there wasn't even anything there to begin with, all I could focus on was that one room. I went in. The room was smaller than it looked before, and the chair seemed bigger then a normal one. There was something really small on it. Everything began spinning around me, but it probably was due to me running so fast, and that I was really tired.
I went to pick up the thing to inspect it, feeling like I found what I was searching for, but the lights started flickering. As I lifted it up, the door closed on it's own. Gripping the object I turned around , and saw a shadow that had followed me all this time. Everything suddenly turned black and I couldn't see anymore.
