He suddenly woke up, scared. He dreaded this part, the night just filling everything with darkness, not being able to see anything, only hearing creaks and echos. He was all alone, yet he wasn't. He lived alone, but he was sure there was another being in his house. What it was, he wasn't sure. It was slowly walking, seemingly looking through everything, ever so silently, ever so slowly. Only the slow and steady footsteps of a heavy being could be heard as he lied in his bed, paralyzed by fear. He felt them nearing, the creature being in the room directly next to the one he's in at the moment. He didn't know what to do, he felt like he didn't have any choices. He was already dead anyway. One wrong move could alert the creature but what it it already knows he's here? What if it's just playing a sick game of hide and seek with him and waiting for the perfect opportunity to attack?
He heard the creature slowly stepping out of the room. He could only pay attention to the creature now. He could hear it better. Ragged and deep breathing, it probably 2 pairs of legs. It was hard to hear but once heard, it's impossible to miss. His room was a bit far from the other room, he could've had more time, but he just layed there, frozen. Hearing the creature's slow footsteps slowly drawing near. The door slowly opened with a long creek. There it stood at the door, looking straight at him.
