He really didn't want to think about what he'd done. It was too late to change things anyway, too deep in the situation to actually get out of it. But he ran, as fast as his legs had allowed him to go and he didn't stop until he reached a forest. It was dark, eerie and mist was covering the grass just above the ground.

It was quiet, too quiet for his liking, but as much as he didn't like it he had to continue. He didn't have a choice, not after what he had done.

Getting deeper and deeper into the woods, it somehow became even more darker and quieter. He closed his eyes. There was no point in opening them, it was pitch black. He had to find something that could be of use to him, he just had to get to a specific part, but it wouldn't be easy. He couldn't see anything, only feeling the heavy air getting heavier by the second, until he stopped suddenly, opening his eyes.

The temperature dropped, and the air didn't seem as heavy. He was in a clearing. He could see much better than before for some reason. He looked around. The clearing had a blue tint to it. Could it possibly be the moon? But as he looked up, he couldn't see the Moon anywhere, only black sky. Not even a single star was on the sky. This must be the place.

Looking around the place searching for something, he came across a rock. it had a strange symbol on it, just barely noticable. He pushed the rock aside, finding a box under it. pushing back the rock, he stood up, quickly hid it in his bag, then he continued his path in the woods. It was pitch black again, but now there were sounds. Wherever it came from made him pick his pace up.

He began to see lights. He's almost out of the forest. it was almost twighlight, the moon barely on the horizon. He had to get out of there before the sun goes up.

He ran. He didn't look back, nor acknowledged the creature behind him. It would've put him in a bad situation, making his current one worse. He just continued down his path, getting to the other side of the forest. It was on the hill-side, mist-less and more lively.

He was almost there. Just a few minutes till he reached the forest again, but this time he could see and the sun was almost up. He could now hear the footsteps behind him. It didn't sound humanoid, more like a wild animal, only heavier. It was getting really close now but it didn't matter, he was almost there.

Just as the sun came up he managed to slip inside a house-his house. Quickly taking out the box he barely manages to open it and take the thing out of it. The thing that followed him was clawing at the door.

He closed his eyes, holding the thing close, mumbling something softly while shaking. He didn't want to do it, but every action has consequences. He hoped he could escape, but it was too late now. The thing in his hands wouldn't work. There's nothing and no one to save him anymore.

In just a moment, the door barged open. There's nothing to do anymore. He refused to look at the creature as it devoured him, covering him in black mist, slowly fading out of existence for something he shouldn't have done but he must pay the consequences. He has to, he's got no other choice. After all, his time is up.
