Soulmates have been around since the beginning of time. Everyone, with a soulmate that is, is born with a tattoo that connects them to their soulmate. The tattoos can be any size and anywhere on the body, but they are a dull gray color until you come into contact with your soulmate. When a tattoo gains color, it is said to be a very pleasurable experience. As if a weight had been lifted off their chest.
Some people are born without soulmates. Those with more than one soulmate are considered to be extremely rare. Almost the entire population only has one soulmate, or none at all. But there are a few special cases where more than one soulmate is found.
