                                        Deku

Laughter rang all throughout Izuku Midoriya's ears.

This was courtesy of someone he knew all too well.

Katsuki Bakugo.

"You??? Get into a place like U.A.???"

He whooped in laughter and all the students joined him. Izuku slid further into his seat, wishing he could disappear into it. He kept cursing himself. When the teacher asked where he was planning to attend college, he knew he should have lied. He really should've.

Why didn't he????

"Don't be more idiotic then you already are, Deku. U.A. is where I'm applying. Me. Bakugo. There's no way they would let in a failure like you." Bakugo sneered.

"That's enough, Katsuki," the teacher said. "Izuku, maybe you should also apply to somewhere more... your level."

The class laughed again. Izuku felt cheeks start to sting from tears. Luckily, at that moment the bell rang and the class filed out. Izuku dragged himself to his feet and out the room, out of the school, and all the way home.

Izuku Midoriya wasn't special. And that as the thing. Izuku was just too average. He had almost nothing that set him apart from regular people. Everything was average.

Even his face looked average. Besides his broccoli-green hair.

This was why he had little-to-no chance of getting into the prestigious college that is U.A.

(Author's note: *I know U.A. is a high school. I changed it to a college for two reasons. 1. I want them to have dorms from the beginning. But, also 2. I want the students to be a little older. So push your anime glasses back down.*)
U.A. College was all for pushing out the inner passions in people and training them on their career paths. Usually, people who go to U.A. already having an idea of what they want to study.

On the application paper, he had to write the thing he was planning to be, (for now.) But, that's what stumped him.

Truth is, Izuku had no idea what he wanted to be.

He wanted someone who could help people. A symbol of hope & peace for people in need. But, what career offered that? A police officer? That could work. But, it didn't feel right to him.

He decided to take a walk.

Even though it was late, he slipped on his shoes and coat, and walked out into the cold night air.

He stared at the U.A. application letter as he walked.

Why should he?

It would just hurt him even more when he got rejected. Besides, no one else believed in him besides his mom. (And even she had second-thoughts.)

He then zeroed in on the blank space.

The place where he was supposed to put his dream career.

There's nothing, Izuku thought. I'm nothing.

He opened the trashcan in front of him and dropped the letter in.

He turned around to go home.

"PLEASE NO!!!!"

Izuku froze. He whipped around trying to figure out where the scream came from.

"PLEASE SIR!! SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP!!"

Izuku bolted in the direction of the voice. He rounded a corner and peered into an alleyway. There he saw a man sitting on the ground, face stricken with fear. Standing in front of him was a man with a butcher knife and wearing a red bandana.
