Deku blinked. Then he remembered.

"Your dad is-"

"The man who was almost killed 6 months ago," Ochako said, still holding his hand.

Deku smiled. "I'm so happy that he's okay. " He looked down guiltily. "I felt horrible leaving him there. It's just-"

"Your arm was bleeding out, I know. My dad told me. He talks about you all the time. You should meet him! He would be ecstatic!"

"I would love to!"

Uraraka beamed.

She had found him. And he was incredible. She knew when she met him she would be in debt to him. She hoped he wouldn't be some jerk who would take advantage of that. But, after meeting him...

She would gladly be in debt to him.

Deku was elated.

He had put an end to a 6 month quandary of his, moved into his new school, and... met Uraraka. Today was one of the best days of his life. And it was all due to her. This bubbly, joyful, and charismatic girl.

Without thinking, Ochako started leaning in.

Without thinking, Deku started leaning in.

Their faces were centimeters away from each other.

They shut their eyes and-

"Hey, nerd!"

The two leaned away from each other immediately. Their faces were flushed. Deku whipped around.

Bakugo was standing there smiling a cruel, evil, smile. "Do you think I forgot about you? You don't get spared since it's the first day of school. Come here."

Deku's heart dropped. He'd hoped that when they got to high school Bakugo would stop. He turned to Ochako.

"I'll be back in a bit," he said.

Ochako grabbed his arm. She leaned back so Bakugo wouldn't see her. Is it bad? She mouthed this to Deku. I'll be fine, he mouthed back. He smiled. But, it wasn't a happy smile. She could see the hurt in the smile. She released him. He and Bakugo walked into Bakugo's room. Bakugo shut the door. She immediately got up and cracked the door slightly open. She saw an unholy sight.

Bakugo was punching Deku in the face, very hard.

(You readers and your dirty minds.)

And not just his face. Bakugo was punching and kicking every part of him.

Deku was doing nothing.

Just letting it happen.

He was wearing a blank, unbothered, expression as if this happened regularly. He saw Ochako's eyes in the door. He gave her a look of pleading. Not pleading with her to save him, actually quite the opposite.

He was pleading with her to do nothing. He didn't want him to hurt her too.

Ochako nodded and left.

She couldn't watch this.

*************************

Ochako heard a knock on her door. She opened it and nearly screamed.

Deku was standing there with multiple scratches, bruises, and a black eye.

"D-deku-?" She couldn't believe what she was seeing. "C-come in."

Deku walked in. Ochako quickly shut the door and turned to him.

"He's been doing this to you for-"

"Years. Ever since elementary school really. They get more intense over the years. On days when he's extra angry it's lethal." He pointed to his eye and very, slightly, chuckled.

"He wasn't that mad today, luckily."

"YOU MEAN THIS ISN'T THE WORST HE'S DONE TO YOU?!?!?"

Deku flinched. Ocahko didn't mean to yell, but she was shocked.

"Sit on the bed. I'm going to clean you up."

Deku wanted to argue, but he could tell she wouldn't budge.

Deku sat down and Ochako started mending his wounds. While doing this Deku told her about he and Bakugo's relationship throughout the years. How he had always bullied and hurt him. How he was saying how he's nothing and doesn't deserve life. Deku paused after saying this. He seemed uncomfortable.

"Deku?" Deku turned to face Ochako. "You know he's SO VERY wrong, right?"

Deku said nothing. He smiled a timid smile.

A single tear rolled down his cheek.

Ochako gasped and then immediately wrapped her arms around him.

He leaned into her hug.

Neither of them would have imagined this.

Deku started the day excited to go to school and now he's crying into the shoulder of this girl he met today.

After awhile he stopped crying. Ochako waited until he'd collected himself. Ochako knew something that would cheer him up. It was something she had wanted to tell him back at the couch. Now it seemed more relevant.

"Deku? I've been thinking."

He turned to her.

"I understand that your whole hero thing is to take care of overall problems and threats that the police can't right?"

Deku nodded. "Some 'hero' I am."

"Don't say that. You've inspired me."

Deku turned to her.

"This world needs more people to take care of large-scale organizations, but also small problems and everything in-between." Ochako stood up and turned to him.

"Uraraka," Deku said. "What are you saying?"

"I want to become a hero."

Hey guys. Please tell me if you still like this fan fic. I'm kinda thinking of writing another Izuocha fanfic. It has a pretty good plot. But I also don't wanna just give up on this one. So let me know.
