(Kageyama's POV)
Shoyo and I sat on his bed listening to music. I just watched him bobbing his head to the beat of the music when he suddenly stops. I think that's the door. I can feel him tense up beside me and he grabs my hand. There's a gentle knock at his bedroom door. I pause the music.
"Shoyo son, the nurse is here can we come in."
She waits for Shoyo to respond before she opens the door. Shoyo and I scoot forward on his bed until our feet are on the floor.
"Hello, Shoyo my name is Nurse Sato. I'm here to finally relieve you of that bandage."
Shoyo squeezes my hand. She sat in front of him.
"Now, mum when I take the bandage off you might get a shock but don't worry. I was there with you when you came into the hospital Shoyo, I was your nurse throughout your stay. So this might be a bit scary for your family as they have not seen you without your bandage but I can reassure you and them that it is healed enough to take the stitches out and the redness will disappear as your new skin regrows and gets used to the air. Are we all ready?"
She looked at Sakura then to Natsu and finally at me with a small smile. We all nodded in response.
"Go for it."
Shoyo smiled. She undid the tape at the back and slowly began to unwind it, just before she took the padded bit of she gave us all one last look.
I really didn't know what I expected to see, but this was not it. Across his nose and above his left eye were stitches and a pink line, it looked like someone had drawn a thin line on him in a pink pen. But around both eyes that were still closed, there were spikes of raw pink skin. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Sakura put her hand over her mouth.
"Shoyo I'm going to take your stitches out, keep your eyes shut. I promise it won't hurt, actually truth be told this might tickle."
She took out small scissors and began snipping away one side then pulled the other noted side sliding it out. Shoyo smiled the whole time but never moved a muscle. Once they were out she ran a soft pad soaked in a smelly solution over his now more visible scar.
"Great job, Shoyo. Now I want you to open your eyes please and blink a few times."
Shoyo wasted no time and began blinking fast, moving his eyebrows up and down. Then he left them open. Normally I could see his big beautiful hazel eyes staring out at me but what surprised me most was how his eyes seemed to be coated in a white film. I could barely make out the colour underneath at all.
"Wow Shoyo, you look totally badass."
Natsu said, moving closer. Sakura clipped her over the back of the head but Shoyo burst out laughing.
"Take a picture, I wanna see it when I get better," he said cheerily.
I couldn't help but smile. He is always the optimist. There was a flash as Natsu took the picture on her phone with the flash on and Shoyo froze squeezing my hand tight.
"What's wrong Shoyo? I asked.
Everyone suddenly looked at me and back to Shoyo.
"I...I saw the flash, well kind of. Everything got brighter for a second."
"That's great Shoyo. That's just the kind of news I was hoping for. I'm going to give your eyes a quick shine with my torch, let me know if there's any change again."
She drew a small white torch out of her bag. Shoyo beamed as he was able to tell when she was shining the torch.
He sat running his hands over his freshly exposed eyes for a while after the nurse left. We were back to sitting on his bed talking about the team chat. I was relaying the team's messages from the group chat and typing his response. He asked me to take a photo and sent it to them too, I did and my phone instantly blew up with messages.
"You're staring again, aren't you? Do.. do I look hideous?"
He covered his face. I held his hands away from his face and put my other hand under his chin lifting his head up so he was level with me.
"Shoyo, you could NEVER look hideous. But Natsu's right you do look very badass."
He chuckles and my heart lightens.
"Is it sore?"
I ask my brows pulled together. He looks like he is in a lot of pain and that knots my stomach. He's so much stronger than I could ever be. To my surprise, he pulls my hand up to his face and guides my hand over his scar and down over his eyes. Ever so lightly I let my fingers skim over his face. Placing my hand on the side of his cheek I run my thumb back over the spiky red tendrils, Shoyo places his hand over mine holding it in place as he leans right into my hand. My heart begins beating so fast I'm sure it's about to burst out my chest. Then he does something I really didn't expect. Closing his eyes he moves his head, kissing the palm of my hand. I let out a small gasp in surprise as the butterflies churning in my stomach. It's not a bad feeling, it makes me want more. He opens his eyes, aware now of what he did, and goes to pull away but I put my other hand on the other side of his cheek, pulling him to me. When we are about an inch apart I can feel his breath on my lips. I stare into his eyes, at this distance I can just see the brown trying to breakthrough. I lean forward and gently press my lips against his soft warm lips. His hands fly into my hair as he pulls me more into the kiss letting out a soft moan that sends a shiver down my spine urging me to keep this going as long as I can. Holding on to Shoyo I lean forward laying him down on the bed without breaking our kiss so that I was leaning over him. My breathing hitched up a notch as he wound one of his legs around my waist and it was my turn to let out a gasp of pleasure. He smiles breaking our kiss for a second but I just send my lips crashing back into his. Panting I start to kiss the side of his cheek then I move down his neck. When I kiss next to his ear he lets out a cute sound so I do it again and he bites his lip squirming underneath me. I chuckle lightly into his ear as he finds my lips once more. I run my hand through his soft orange hair as we both release each other panting. My heart is still threatening to burst out of my chest as I stare at his beautiful smile. I lean down and whisper in his ear.
"Shoyo, I really like you."
As my lips brush his ear his hands tighten in my hair again and he bits his lip.
"Tobio, kiss me" he pleaded.
I waste no time and do as he asked. I let my hands wander down his slender back as we kiss.
After a while, we are both panting a lot and Shoyo rests his head on my chest as I lay on his bed. I play with his hair as he draws circles on my chest with a finger. I haven't stopped smiling since our makeout session. For once, everything feels right for once.
"Tobio, I'm going to really miss you when you're at school tomorrow." he sighs.
I laugh softly and he tilts his head up to me.
"I forgot to tell you, your mum phoned the school. I get to stay with you here. For the rest of the week."
I smile down at him. His hand flies up to my face and over my smiling cheeks. His cheeks suddenly turn red and he leans up and kisses me.
