"Who needs to take a job alone when you have us to help you" Natsu urged, trying to convince Lucy to let them go on a mission with her. She gave a long, exasperated sigh "I said no, I can't let you guys go on another mission with me and not get the award because I need the money to pay rent. It's not fair to you, or Happy" she said as she placed her last item in her suitcase. "But Lucy, we're a team. Teams always go on missions with each other" Happy wailed, never in Lucy's short life in the guild had she heard Happy be so desperate. "My answer is still no, and besides, I'll only be gone for a few days. After that, I'll be home and ready to go on missions with you guys again" she said softly, trying to conceal her annoyance. "Promise" Happy asked, gripping a small fish in his hands. "I promise" Lucy sighed "Now get out, my train leaves soon....I can't be late."
After leaving Natsu and Happy behind, Lucy began to walk towards the station. The job she had chosen was simple, all she to do was decode a spell for a small merchant. It was easy and it made good money (I.E the perfect job). Lucy finally made it to the station, she took a deep breath and boarded the train that was heading towards Crocus.
"But that's all it does?" the young woman wailed. Lucy nodded "I'm sorry, the spell is only meant for levitation. It comes in handy for moving stuff though" she said awkwardly, trying to make light of the practicality useless spell. The young merchant sighed "I guess" she takes out 80,000 jewl, "You did your job, thank you. I was just hoping that it was one of those really cool spells like Earth magic or Fire Magic" this time the merchant sounded enthused. Lucy laughed, She recalled the time where Natsu destroyed Hargeon's port because of a fire he set. "My best friend is a Fire Dragon Slayer, he's on the destructive side" Lucy said. The woman laughed "That's the best magic ever" her eyes lit up and her straight face formed a smile. Lucy nervously laughed "Thanks for the Jewl, good luck with your shop" she called while backing out.
"That girl was creeeeeepy" Lucy said to Plue, her small (but adorable) celestial spirit. Plue nodded "Uh-huh" he squeaked. Lucy gripped her bag tightly "Okay little guy, I'm going to have to board the train now" Plus nodded and left. Lucy put her keys back then walked towards the train station.
Lucy finally got settled down into her seat on the train. She closed her eyes and waited for the train to start..... but it never did. The sound of the roaring engine was replaced by blood-curtling screams. Lucy stood up and grabbed Virgo's key, she summoned the petite girl. "Have you summoned me to punish me Princess?" Virgo asked hopefully. Lucy narrowed her eye brows "What is your deal" she snapped. Virgo stood up straight "What would you like Princess?" Lucy looked at the trains door and all of its occupants "Dig a hole under the train, and get the passengers to safety" Lucy instructed. Virgo nodded and did as she was told, pretty soon all of the passengers were cleared out of the cars.
Lucy stood alone in the third car of the number 7 train. Loud bangs knocked on the door, the blonde grabbed her whip and unleashed it. The door flew off and three people came three, one being the merchant from earlier. The girl was now dressed in a revealing black body suit that showed her stomach. "Lucy Heartfilia?" she asked. Lucy slighted nodded, obviously confused. "Skull, we don't have time to fool around, we have to get to our destination" a smaller girl, that looked almost exactly like Skull (the merchant). "I know that Spine" she snapped. Skull looked at Lucy and snickered "Members of the Cross Bone guild are always punctual" she sneered. Spine sighed and brought a hand up "Dark arrow attack" suddenly small arrows exploded from her hand. Lucy brought her hand to her keys, but they weren't there. The arrows hit Lucy, she fell back. Lucy looked up and saw a tall blonde haired girl holding her pouch "I like these, I want to keep them. A weakling like you shouldn't enjoy the power it brings" she spat. The girl that looked like Skull (Spine) smiled "Good job Rib" she said through enthusiasm. Lucy scrambled up and got her whip again "Give them back" she yelled. Rib smiled, "Let me do" suddenly Rib disappeared "THIS" she yelled, her nails had grown longer and sharper. She brought them down on Lucy's arm, before Lucy could realize what had happened, both her and Rib were on the ground.
"Luc, get the girl. I'll get an escape" a soft voice yelled. Lucy started to black out, but before she did, the last thing she saw was a brown haired boy pick her up.
Hey guys, I hope you liked it. More to come.
