-dinner with the kangs-

- where dylan's parents unexpectedly come over to the dorm to have family dinner with him and the boys -

    Dylan, Hoseok, and Teahyung are laying on the couch, just scrolling through their phones while Jungkook and Jimin play video games on the floor in front of them. Namjoon and Yoongi are sitting at the kitchen island, discussing some music while Jin is taking a shower. Overall, they are all just vibeing seeing as this is a more relaxed day (which most days where now because of covid, sadly.)

    Dylan is lying against Tae, who has his arm around the younger while Tae uses his other hand to look through twitter. Stan twitter can be funny just as much as it can be terrifying. As Jin is making his way into the living room, rubbing his wet hair with a towel, he asks what the group would like to eat for dinner.

    "I don't really care what we have. I'll just have whatever anyone else wants." Dylan comments, not looking up from his phone or getting off of Tae.

    Just as Jungkook was about to loudly proclaim that he wants Hibachi, Dylan's phone rings, causing the group to go into silence and move into the kitchen and and start a conversation. Well, Jimin, Hobi, and JK do, Dylan and Tae were comfortable so they stay on the couch while Yoongi and Rm were already in the kitchen.

    "Hi Mom." Dylan says in english, with a smile on his face. This gets the attention of Kook, because duh, he lives for Dylan's accent. Nevertheless he still stays in the kitchen though.

    Tae hears Dylan's mom say 'hi honey, are you busy right now?' back but doesn't want to eavesdrop on the conversation, so he goes back to scrolling through his phone.

    "Ani, what's up? The boys are just deciding what they want for dinner." The way Dylan can so casually switch between english and korean while talking to his parents amazes the others and makes him interesting to listen too, because they like trying to piece together what he's saying. The maknae's half listen to the convo about dinner while trying to also listen to what Dylan is saying.

    There is a few seconds of silence on Dylan's end while his mom answers. "Aniyo, still deciding." Dylan scratches his nose and then shakes his head in response to something his mom says but realizes that she can't see him. He looks back at Tae and points to his phone and Tae gets the message that Dylan wants to know the time, so he turns his phone off and back on to show him. "Ani, it's only six, it's not too late."

    Dylan leans back against Tae for three seconds before he suddenly bolts up again, effectively scaring everyone in the room (Tae even drops his phone.) "Eh?!" The others would be worried if it wasn't for the smile on his face. "Yeah, that's completely ok! You've been quarantined right? No sickness?"

    Everyone watches with fondness and curiosity as Dylan gets up and speed walks to the window facing the parking garage. His mom says something and Dylan's smile gets a bit bigger, "Good, that's good. Yeah, come on up then."

    Then he hangs up and the others look at him curiously. Dylan has a bright smile on his face that makes his chubby cheeks rise. (Jin has the sudden urge to take a photo of him.) "My Eomma and Appa just called saying they are coming over for dinner. They're downstairs now."
He says it so casually it takes the others a few seconds before his words seep in.

    "What?! We don't even have dinner made!" Jin says in a frenzy as Jimin, Hobi, and Jonnie look around the room to see if its clean enough.
