Chapter 1 Meeting Him

Aera's POV

"Young Lady Aera, tinatawag ka na po ni Chairman sa baba," narinig kong sambit ng katulong namin sa akin habang inaayos ko ang aking mga gamit.

I am preparing my things now kasi aalis na ako dito sa bahay. An hour from now, makikilala ko na ang mapapangasawa ko and I will live with him at mag transfer din ako ng school malapit sa bahay niya. Yes, cliche as it is, in this generation, may mga pamilya paring nagiging uso ang arrange marriage and most of them are from the upper class families of the society. At isa ang pamilya namin doon. I just turned 18 but I will be getting married to I-dont-know-who guy that I will be meeting later. Ah, di pala kami talaga ikakasal na literal. We will just be signing the marriage certificate na magiging katunayan na kasal kami, only in papers.

I never agreed to this marriage because I was taught that marriage is for two people loving each other till forever. But, I never disagreed either. Why? Because I also was taught and been disciplined to follow my dad's decisions because what he do and decide is for my own sake.

Well, through this marriage, lalawak pa ang aming law firm, and we will become co-owners of Trovan Corp. which was owned by my soon-to-be husband's family. For me, wala namang mawawala sa akin sa pagpapakasal and wala ding mawawala sakanya. I don't even care kung ayaw niya sakin because feelings are not included in this agreement. We can just have a divorce later kung di magwork ang marriage namin.

And one more thing is that we have to rely with the Trovan's para mabuhay ang aming kumpamya. We will go bankrupt pag wala ang tulong nila kaya kailangan komg gawin ito.

I closed my luggage saka tumayo. "Tell him I'm coming," sagot ko sa katulong then lets her pull my luggage pababa ng hagdan.

I followed her sa pagbaba. "Let's go," my dad said pagkakita sa akin. I only had my dad since I was 7 years old. Namatay na kasi ang mom ko since seven years old ako. I had an ability, or I don't know if it's an ability or sickness. Yun ay ang emphatic ability. I can easily emphatize other people. Yun bang kahit langgam na mamamatay e iniiyakan ko. I cry easily just knowing what is happening to other people.

We walked towards the car that will lead us to the house where we will be living. Doon na din kami magpipirmahan kasama ang pamilya ng lalake.

"Are you ready?" my dad asked habang nasa biyahe kami. He was looking at me as if I have a choice to run away and live my own life as I wish.

I smiled at him and nods a bit. "Yes dad. Wag kang mag-alala sakin," I reassured him.

He pats my shoulder. "Remember that this is for your own good. Pakisamaham mo siyang mabuti. Do this for us. For our family."

"I know. I always believe in you, dad," I said.

An hour passed by at tumigil na ang sasakyan sa harap ng Trovan's mansion. The driver opened the door for me so I stepped down at iginala ang paningin sa buong paligid. Parang hindi ito mansion, parang isang palasyo sa kalawak at kalaki. There are trees and many beautiful plants around. May malawak na dancing fountain din sa gitna ng bakuran.

We walked inside the house at nakita namin ang nakayukong mga katulong na animo'y nag aantay ng pagdaan ng isang reyna. Mayaman din naman kami pero hindi ganito ka OA ang mga katulong namin. I shrugged my shoulders and coldly walks towards the dining hall.

Malayo palang ay tanaw ko na ang bulto ng isang lalake na nakaupo patalikod sa akin at isang sopistikadang babae na nakangiti habang inaantay kami. That might be his mom.

Tumayo ang babae at lumakad palapit sa akin. She has a warm aura with her smiles kaya napangiti na din ako. "Oh, my, you're so beautiful hija. Bagay na bagay kayo ng anak ko," she said at niyakap ako.
