Haurhi and I sat in the back seat, her legs planted on the ground while mine swung back and forth. Music played softly in the background, a famous J-pop band I'd never heard of. They were good, this boy band, and I liked the fast beat and high engergy they sang with. haruhi's fingers tapped to the beat and I knew she liked the song as well, even if she wasn't humming along or gushing.
"Are we watching only one type of movie or are we streching the horizon?" I ask.
Haruhi's silent as she thinks. "Whatever everyone feels like, I'm okay with."
I smile and nod my head. We fall back into silence, but it didn't last long because the car had pulled up to haruhi's house and we were climbing out in a matter of seconds. Heaving my schoolbag over my shoulder, I follow Haruhi up the steps leading to her apartment. Earlier she had told that her dad wasn't going to be there so I couldn't meet him just yet. Everyone else had, but Haruhi assured me that her father would like me. Probably more, she had whispered, than he liked the host club memebers.
"If you wouldn't mind, could you help me straighten up around here?" HAruhi drops her back on the kitchen counter. I follow suit and place mine down.
"Sure, I wouldn't mind." I said, dumping my phone on her couch.
Haruhi nods briskly, her nerves beginning to show. Some of those nerves stemmed from knowing Tamaki was going to be there tonight, and others were from the fact that her house wasn't as large as the other's. I patted her shoulder and smiled encouragingly. She sends me a less confident smile, but smiles all the same. Together we begin cleaning up the dirty clothes and washing the dishes.
It was around six o'clock that we heard the doorbell ring. To both our surprise, the house looked amazing and clean. No clothes were laying around, the dishes were cleand and placed neatly away, adn the couch looked inviting for anyone. Haruhi's paniced squeak tells me she's looking out the peep hole. I go to her and ease her away from the door, shaking my head and pointing towards the kicthen. Nodding her head, Haruhi leaves the front room and disappears into the kitchen to set out glasses of water.
"Hey, guys." I grin, opening the door. Seven pairs of eyes greet mine and seven different smiles were offered. I open the door wider and motion for them to come in. Once all seven of them were in, I close the door and lock it. Even with seven boys here, I didn't want to chance anyone breaking in. Call me paranoid, but I had trust issues.
Strong arms wrap around my waist and pull me away from the door. I turn my head to stare at Hikaru, my lips pulling into a bright smile. Leave it to Hikaru to know how I was feeling. Hikaru smiles down at me, his amber gaze burning and seering right through me to my soul. I lean into him before pulling away and dragging him towards the kicthen where all the others had gone. I feel his hand slip around my waist and put it in the front of my jean pocket. I slap his hand away and scowl playfully at him. He puts a hand to chest in mock hurt but doesn't try again. Knowing I would do more than smack him next time.
"You're no fun," he pouts.
I debate flipping him the bird, but decide against it because Kaoru had came around the corner and nearly knocked into me. Falling against him, I brace myself by placing my hands on his chest. Hikaru makes a noise in the back of his throat, but Kaoru and I both ignore him- too busy on trying not to fall over backwards. Hikaru picks up and places me away from his brother. Annoyance sets in and I scowl at him, but the look in his gaze drops the scowl from my face completely. Trying to get the look of pain in his eyes out, I take his hand hold it in mine.
He mouths the words sorry. I shrug my shoulders, but my annoyance wasn't completely gone. "He's your brother." I say.
Hikaru has the decency to blush and look away. I smirk at my victory and take Kaoru's hand with my other, leading them both into the kitchen before anyone else comes looking for us. Haruhi casts me a questioning look, I shake my head and give a look that says talke-to-you-later. She nods and continues her conversation with Honey, Mori standing behind his cousin's smaller body. Mori's brown eyes find mine when I sit down on a chair beside the island. I feel my cheeks warm and my heart flutter, almost in the way Hikaru causes my blood race. I quickly look away and focus on the glass of water in front of me. Everyone had set their plates of food on the counter and I felt amazed at the varity placed before my eyes.
