[TWO'S A CROWD THREE'S A PARTY]
'Don't let two men fall in love with you, it's not the sort of thing that ends well.'
'Sera, your client called and they are asking you to come earlier - Friday at around three to twelve midnight, the pay is triple plus overtime and regular pay per day. I gave your number to Mr. Do, I think he'll phone you today.'
It was the tenth time that I have read that message from Mrs. Yoon and an hour since I received it but still no calls from Do Kyungsoo. I wonder why he needs me to be there earlier than usual but with the pay offer - I wouldn't even think twice about coming over.
Last show in Myeong-dong later this afternoon then take a day off tomorrow if this job at Hannam is a 'go' but I think I need to pee first, I don't know why I am being nervous all of a sudden with just the idea of receiving a call from Kyungsoo.
I stood up and was about to run to the bathroom when my phone aggressively whirred against my table which I took as quickly as I can.
"Hello?" I muttered after putting the phone against my ears.
'Kang Sera?'
It was indeed Do Kyungsoo - now I just have to calm these nerves down and talk. I sat down back to my couch and comfortably perch my back while I just hummed in return though I am wildly squealing inside my head.
'This is Kyungsoo. Is it a - a good time for us to talk?'
"Oh, D.O? We can talk, I am not doing anything right now. Why did you call?" I asked pretending as if I don't have the slightest idea what was the call about.
'It's Kyungsoo, and reason for the call is because of the party this coming Friday, like a welcome party but I don't have any idea what to prepare or what to buy so Kwangsoo Hyung said that maybe we can ask you for help.' he quoted with his usual steady and low register tone.
"A welcome party? Sure, I mean Mr. Lee is right, I can absolutely help you out with that." I confirmed though I hope I don't sound too excited to him when in fact my heart was already doing a back flip.
'Cool. I already spoke with the agency regarding your pay and all -'
"Don't worry about it, we can talk about that after the party. If you have time tomorrow, I'll go earlier than five so we can check your pantry and cellar then buy anything that's missing." I proposed though I am not sure if he'll agree to it.
'Okay, I'll be off from work at around one in the afternoon. Meet me at the house then we'll go shop if needed.' he briefly returned - bingo!
"Noted. Uh, how many visitors are you expecting if I may ask?"
'Ten or more? Something like that, all of them are my friends and classmates from college and some of them will be bringing their girlfriends and partners along, just letting you know cause you might worry that it's an all-guy party- it's not.' He defended which I find quite fascinating.
"All good, no worries at all. It's all part of the job so - yeah, all good Kyungsoo. Are you going to cook anything?"
'Can we talk about that tomorrow when we meet? I have to - I have to go now.' he grumbled obviously in a hurry.
"Oh- okay. Yeah, sure - tomorrow. Let's talk about it tomorrow."
'Bye, Sera.'
"By-" he disconnected the call even before I bid him goodbye but fine. I just scored a sideline and a chance to see Do Kyungsoo, this can never be more exhilarating.
