We worked day and night searching through every shred of evidence we have, hoping to see if we can find something the other officers missed last time. And I'm not saying they are bad cops but like I said it's possible they missed something they are only human. Two of the officers were working with the IT guys to track down how he may bought those tanks, but considering we don't exactly have a lot on the guy there is not a lot to go on. I've called in for a L.A.P.D. psychologist. I hope he can give us some more information about this guy. It's supposed to be some high class smart guy. We'll see about that.

It's been days since I've seen Olivia. She has been with her uncles all this time. Today she is coming home again. Cameron is bringing her home around six. During all this investigating there is the usual paperwork which I have to finish too. I check my watch and notice it's almost four o'clock already. I finish up my report, send an email to that psychologist Mateo to confirm our appointment tomorrow and decide to clock out. I nod to Cal on my way out and make my way down, in the meantime I send a text to my brother "on my way home now."

As I arrive home I take a quick shower and slip into something more comfortable. Just as I'm about to start dinner, the doorbell rings. I frown, that's weird Cameron has a key and Olivia would just simply wait till Cameron would have opened the door. I pick up my gun which lays within my reach, as always. I slowly make my way towards the door when the doorbell rings this time more urgent. I lift up my gun and bring it foward, finger still off the trigger though. Once again the doorbell rings this time a voice goes along with it. 'Vic! Open the door! I know you're inside, and you better not have your gun pointed at me woman.' I lower my gun as I recognize the voice. I open the door in surprise. 'Charles? What are you doing here?' A tall man stands before me, ash blonde hair and baby blue eyes. All woman would swoon before him. 'What no kiss, no hello brother. How are you?' He answers. I hug him before inviting him in. 'It's been a long time. How are you doing Charles?' 'I'm fine baby sis. I just got out of prison.' 'Why were you in prison?' I ask him with a strict tone in my voice. 'It was just a petty theft, nothing serious.' 'Nothing serious Charles. You were in prison. I can't believe you try to laugh this off.' 'Calm down baby sis.' He says as he tries to walk past me. I hit him on the back of his head before I let him in. 'Fine. I'll leave it be for now, but only because Olivia is about to arrive with Cameron. His face lights up. 'How is my favourite niece?' 'She is doing really well in school.' Just as I'm about to close the front door I see a familiar matte black car pull up. I walk towards the car so I can open the door for Olivia who immediately jumps into my arms. 'Mommy! I'm home!' I laugh. 'I can see that honey.' I put her back on the ground. 'Why don't you go fetch your bag from the trunk. Okay sweetheart?' I turn around to hug Cameron and pull him aside, further away from Olivia. He sees my concerned look and asks. 'Whats wrong?' 'Okay, Cam I need you to not react like an insane person ecpecially with Olivia here.' He frowns. 'Why? What's the matter?' He asks just as Charles walks outside. His face drops and a dark gleam shows in his eyes. Olivia immediately spots him. 'Uncle Charlie!' She yells before running to him and jumping in his arms. His eyes light up and he spins her around. 'What's he doing here?' Cam asks me. 'He just got out of prison for petty theft.' I say to Cam. 'And you let him in your house, by himself?!' He replies acting as if I'm a complete moron. I stomp his arm. 'He is still our brother, Cam.' 'If you say so, Vic. I'm heading back home sorry I can't stay.' 'Can't stay or won't stay?' I ask sarcastically. 'I'm sorry Vic. I have a meeting tomorrow.' 'Fine, I love you.' He hugs me tightly before stepping back into his car. 'Love you to sis. Be careful Vic, please.' He says through the open window. 'I'll be fine Cam. Don't worry besides you're the one who taught me how to shoot remember?' I make my way back inside and ask Charles if he would like to stay for dinner. 'I would like that baby sis.' 'Stop calling me that, you're only three years older than me, fool.' I say rolling my eyes. I go to the kitchen to start dinner. In the meantime Olivia is doing her homework at the Kitchen table. 'Come help mommy with dinner Liv and tell me how your week with uncle Cam was?' 'Uncle Cam-Cam let me eat a lot of candy and helped me really well with my homework.' Of course he did, I thought to myself. 'That sounds like you had a really great time sweetheart. I'm sorry mommy was busy with work.' 'That's okay mommy. You need to catch the bad guys.' I give Olivia a bit hug. 'I love you, Liv.' 'I love you too, mommy.' I set the table since dinner is almost ready. 'You mind helping out here, Charles?' He looks up from his phone and starts putting down plates and cutlery along with some glasses of water. 'What's for dinner anyway, sissy?' He lifts up the lid on one of the pans that is brewing on the stove. 'Oehh stew, my favourite. Almost like you knew I was coming.' I roll my eyes. 'Okay first, sissy is ever worst than baby sis and second it's Livs favourite meal too, so don't flatter yourself.' He pouts as he sits down at the table and as soon as Liv sits down next to him he whispers sadly. 'Your mommy is bullying me.' Liv looks at me with an open mouth. 'Mommy! Why are you bullying poor unlce Charlie?!' Poor Charlie! Son of a bitch. I give him a death stare and kick him uncer the table. He spits out the sip of water he just took and looks at me with a grin. After twenty minutes we're done with eating. 'Liv, why don't you finish your homework in the living room? Charles will help mommy with the dishes.' 'Okay mommy.' Olivia takes her homework and makes her way to the living room leaving Charles with me. I fill the sink with water and dish soap. 'Why are you really here, Charles?' 'Can't I just here to see my sister and my niece?' 'It would be lovely if that were true, but you and I both know it's not.' 'Okay the truth is, I need a place to say. They foreclosed my house, and you know Cameron won't let me stay with him and Brady doesn't have the space for me.' 'So you think that I will let you stay in the same house as Olivia after you just got out of prison for petty theft even though I don't really believe that. Why don't you ask dad if you can stay with him for a while. He hasn't seen you in forever.' He looks at me with an incredibly hurt face and when he replies the pain seeps through his every word. 'You would really think I would hurt Olivia of steal something from you, Victoria?' The fact that he uses my full name, which he never does, amounts to how much my comment really hurts. 'You're right, I should go.' 'Charles wait, you can stay here for a week, but only if you promise to get a nice, legit job.' I walk up to him and hug him. 'I'm sorry Charles. I didn't mean it.' He wraps his arms around me and leans his head on my shoulders. 'Thank you, baby sis.' 'Fine! I won't hit you this time for calling me baby sis.' I go to the living room to check on Olivia and how she is doing with her homework. 'How are you doing here, honey?' 'Almost done mommy.' 'Okay good. After this you can watch a bit of TV and then off to bed okay?' She smiles happily and continues with her homework. 'Oh and uncle Charlie will stay here for a while, is that okay with you?' She cheers loudly. 'Ofcourse mommy! I like that a lot!' 'Yeah, I thought so. Uncle Charlie will also watch out for you when mommy is working then, okay?' She once again cheers and this time Charles joins in. Oh boy, this is gonna be a long week. Once Olivia is tucked in and Charles had read her a bedtime story I grab some sheets and take them to the guest room, where Charles is already brushing his teeth. 'I'm heading in early sis. Tomorrow bright and early I'll go job hunting.' I smile. 'good, you can use my laptop. It's in the study.' I kiss him goodnight and walk to the kitchen to get myself a big glass af wine, because I bloody deserve it.
