"Skip the dance with me"
"Um, excuse me?!" I l snap my head towards his direction as if he was insane. He peered back at me with seemingly no sign of joking beaming from him at all.
"You're excused" He replied, holding the same face expression. The corner of his mouth twitching told me he was holding back a smirk, but the hardness of his stare was brutal.
Kinda making it hard to tell if he's just teasing me
It's honestly hard to read Jason, he just keeps the same blank face expression a lot of the time, so it's difficult to tell when he is and when he isn't. I tried to see if I could catch some sort of glimmer in his eyes to give me some hope but..nothing.
It was as if I was staring into two bricks.
"What makes you think I wanna ditch it?" I quizzed, still in disbelief.
"Well, I wanted to show you something that's pretty cool, but if you wanna go to that cheesy ass shit, then be my guest" He shrugged as he stood and turned away from me. I was about to say something until the coach hollered out that it was the end of class.
"Remember everyone, come back Sunday at eight pm, cause we're all going firefly catching" He announced to the whole class before we were soon dismissed.
"So, where's the note?" I glanced up to see Jason extend his hand out with a bored like expression on his face..
Is it me or did he not just seem upset not too long ago?
Maybe it's just in my head..
I think too much..
"But I thought-" Don't ask questions Lyr, just take it. "Oh, right, It's in my backpack, lemme just go grab it" I trace back before quickly running to the locker room to retrieve my things.
I look for my locker and as soon as I spot it, I pick up my bag and sling it over my shoulder after snatching the note from the front fold. I let out a relieved sigh, looking down at the pink slip, overjoyed that I don't have to experience what Time Out is like now.
I cheerfully skipped out of the locker room and towards Jason, who was patiently waiting for me outside the building. He was uncomfortably slouched on an outside bench with a prerolled blunt in hand with his leg resting on the other, as if he was already prepared to chill.. If I didn't know any better I would think he's from a gang or some shit at first appearance, just from the way he presents himself.
"Are you even allowed to do that here??" I question with a tilted head, pointing at the blunt.
"It's legal now, so who cares??" Jason retorted, blowing out another cloud of smoke. "it's mother nature's gift and who am I not to accept it??" he shrugged off before closing his eyes as if he was succumbing to his high.
"But I think this is a smoke free campus, you could get in trouble" I tried to persuade as he just stared at me for a moment before ashing out his now finished blunt. That famous smirk appeared on his face again when he turned back to my direction in a slouching position.
"Awe, you gon' miss me little rebel??" heat immediately stung my cheeks from feeling like I was put on spot.
Even though it's just us talking.
