And just like that, Kenma and I were back at his house packing for what was going to be our next adventure. The setter insisted that we should climb the mountain because he was certain he would get a part of his memory back. Little-did-he-know, I don't want him to get back this specific part of his memory. What happens if, once we get to the top, he remembers me and realizes that I have been lying to him the whole time?
As much as I don't want to go, seeing Kenma excited like he is right now puts my mind at ease. It will be weird to see Kenma trying to remake our first date. I have heard of couples pretending to meet again for the first time. Bokuto and Akaashi tried it once but they said it was too weird. Well, it's not exactly like they met at a bar or something like that, they literally met on the volleyball court. Acting like they didn't know each other in front of all of their teammates must have been really embarrassing, especially to Akaashi who is such a quiet person.
Kenma and I settled on the fact that we needed to leave in the morning in order to give us time to climb while the sun is still up. I feel as if I am about to have my first date all over again. It's a weird feeling.
It is the morning and the sun barely just rose. Kenma is already up, which is unusual for him. He usually wants to lay in bed until noon. Even when we went on our date, I had to drag him out of bed and dress him up for the day.
Once again, we take the car to get to the small mountain. Kenma is in his head the whole ride. I bet he is trying to remember something, anything, from his first date with his "partner" like he always says.
We arrive at the entrance of the trail and penetrate the dense forest.

The sun was now starting to set as we arrive at the top. I recognize this place very well. I start to set up the tent while Kenma looks at what I packed for dinner. The blond boy is hungry. He refused to stop to take a bite pretexting he was fine when really, he just wanted to get to the top faster.
Once I am done setting up the tent, I spread a blanket on the ground, and Kenma and I both start to eat. Between two bites of his sandwich, Kenma asked:
"Can I ask you to act as if it was a real date between you and me? A recreation of the scene might help me remember better."
Kenma started to eat the dinner I had prepared for our date. I was still setting up the tent. I wanted to make sure it was safe for us to sleep in. I brought noodles, fish and rice to cook over the campfire. Kenma was eating the few vegetables I had brought to complete our meal.
I lit up the fire and started to cook the food. Kenma looked at me with loving eyes. I knew he loved campfires. The one we built in his backyard was great but now he was experiencing a real one. The beautiful brown-haired boy brought his knees up to his chest before setting his eyes on the fire in front of us once again. His eyes were shining like the stars above our heads. I had this magnificent view in front of me, all to myself. The thought that nobody else could see what I was seeing amazed me. I was so fucking lucky to be right here at this moment.
When our meal was over, I reached for another plate in my bag. I had packed Kenma's favorite dessert: strawberries covered in chocolate.
"Kuroo, you're the best!" Kenma loudly whispered.
We were never a couple that did cheesy things, mostly because Kenma despised everything too clingy but this night, he made an exception for me. He pulled a blanket over his head and covered my shoulders with it too. I wrapped ourselves in a comfortable position, the plate of strawberries between us. Kenma chose this moment to engulf the fruit in my mouth. I ate it all and took this chance to sucked on his fingers just to tease him.
