Nico curled up in his cabin, furious.  Will had made a promise and he broke it.  He had promised not to let Nico get hurt again...

And he broke it.

But Nico wasn't just angry.  He was sad.  Will didn't mean to break the promise, but he had.  After all, falling to monsters did that.  Nico had tried to save him- tried to summon his soul, tried to bring him back.  It was only a few hours after it happened.  He looked around his empty Hades cabin, feeling quite lonely.  Why did his loyal, wonderful, annoying Will have to leave him?  Nobody knocked on his door that night.  The funeral was tomorrow, but Nico had to bring Will back.

I have to...

...

Will POV

Will appeared in the Underworld, looking around.  It was huge and incredible and quite honestly terrifying.  And then came the realization.

I'm dead.  No... Nico!  NICO!

He took a deep breath and went into line with the others.

"How did you die?" One asked.  He sighed.

"I got killed by a couple monsters.  But I can't be dead... My boyfriend... I was all he had left!" Will screamed.  The spirit winced.

"Right, sorry," she muttered, turning away.  Will broke into tears.  He hadn't even known ghosts could cry.  He watched hopelessly as the endless line shortened a bit, knowing he would he here for ages.  And he waited.  And waited.  And waited.

Eventually, it was his turn.  Apparently, the Lord of the Dead had seen it fitting to visit Will Solace and sort him.  Will looked at Hades.  I wanted this to be my father-in-law, he thought despairingly.  Hades' eyes glazed over as he looked at Will.  He looked thoughtful.

"You weren't meant to die yet," he said.  He looked away, and whispered,

"If nobody else knows you died I don't have to admit it." Will stared.

"Wh... What?" He asked.  What is Hades saying!?

"Nobody is allowed to hurt my son anymore," Hades growled.  "Get back to Camp Half-Blood for him.  He needs you."

And Will Solace woke up.

...

Nico had finally fallen into a deep slumber when he woke up to a cacophony of screams.

"A ghost!" Cried an Aphrodite girl.  That got Nico's attention.  Slowly, he rose to his feet and wobbled out of his cabin to see this "ghost".  When he saw the blonde haired Apollo boy, he thought he was dreaming.

...

"Nico!" Will ran over to him, embracing him.  "I..."

Nico was lost for words.  He felt Will's life force ebb out of him!  He couldn't have come back!  Then he thought of Hazel, and he looked his boyfriend in the eyes.  They couldn't speak it aloud, what had happened.  If they even uttered a word, Hades would be forced to take Will back.  Nico glared around.

"This never happened.  He was always here," he ordered flatly.  The campers nodded, bewildered but not wanting to argue.  Nico sat besides Will.

"I love you, Death Boy," Will said.

"... I love you too."
