I'm Always Beside You

Chapter Two: Family Trip, Transfer

Hyunsoo and Jiwon booked a guest house by the lake so they could surprise Eun Ha. They were driving to the guest house when Jiwon suddenly remembered that Hyunsoo said she also has a surprise but he hasn't given it yet. Hyunsoo said he'll give it later. They arrived at the guest house before sunrise. Eunha was still sleeping soundly in the car. Hyunsoo carried his daughter to her room while he and Jiwon decided to take a walk by the lake.

"Have you thought about Manager Kang's offer?"

"I'm still thinking about it. Do you want me to take it?"

"Don't make your decision based on me. Just take your time to think if you really want this job. It's the same thing only we're dealing with serial killers based on clues."

"What about the team? If I would say yes, are we going to hide it?"

"No. We'll come clean to Manager Kang. He already saw us work together. He's objective with this things. With the others, well let's leave it to them to connect the dots."

"Enough work talk. We're here to unwind. What do you want for breakfast?"

"How about we just order in? Like you said, we're here to rest. So let's order in or eat out."

"Okay. Let's see if Eun Ha is awake then."

They went back inside and saw Eun Ha watching TV with a pout on her face.

"Eomma, Appa, why did you leave me in the room?"

"Eunha, eomma is sorry. We thought you were tired from the car ride."

There was Jiwon's sweet voice that Hyunsoo loves again. Whenever she talks to Eunha, he feels like he's falling for her all over again. Hyunsoo and Jiwon appeased they're daughter by letting her pick what they eat for breakfast. So they drove to town and ate there. While they were out, they also decided to take a walk at a nearby park. There was a playground where they let Eun Ha play. They also went food shopping so that they could have a picnic there. By dinner time, Eunha requested they have barbeque night in which they agreed to. Besides they were out all day, and tomorrow they have to go back. Just a couple of hours after dinner, Eunha was fast asleep. Tired from playing all day. Hyunsoo went to the living room and sat beside Jiwon who was having a beer.

"Looks like Eunha had too much fun. She fell asleep as soon as her head hit the pillow."

Jiwon was staring at the can of beer in her hand and thought of something about Hyunsoo again.

"Jagiya, what's wrong?"

"Remember when I first confessed to you? I never knew why you hated me."

"I didn't hate you. It's just that, Aside from you there was only one girl I liked. She died when we were in high school."

"So you think, dating me would kill me?"

"No it's not that. I just wanted to make sure that wasn't going to happen again. Plus you were studying at the time. I wanted you to get in."

"You could've helped me then."

"I did. I always kept an eye on you whenever I was around. Especially that night you couldn't ask me to stay."

"So that's why you just stood at the side of the store."

"I couldn't exactly tell you that I can stay with you."

"Now you can. Now you can stay with me."

"And I'll stay. I'll never leave you and Eunha."

The next day, Eunha was sad that they had to drive back home. The trip was over. But they had one more together, Jiwon had a cake delivered to celebrate Hyunsoo's birthday. Both her and Eunha sang for him before giving their gifts.
