I'm Always Beside You

Chapter 01: Private Life

Both Jiwon and Hyunsoo took a leave for the whole weekend so that they could spend time together as a family, after all it's Hyunsoo's birthday. Hyunsoo took a look at his watch and saw that it was 6pm. He promised Jiwon he would pick her up before getting Eun Ha from her mom.

Hyunsoo cleaning his desk after finishing his cases for the day interrupted his co worker with the questioning of a suspect of a murder case. He took a look at the suspected man and came to a conclusion.

"Let him go. He's not the culprit."

"What? How do you know?"

"His ring isn't even worn properly. His shirt is buttoned incorrectly and he has a loose tie. You have to question another person."

"No! You can't! I didn't murder my colleague. I can't reveal my alibi either or my wife will kill me for real."

The man answered leaving his coworkers speechless once again. What he doesn't reveal to them is that not only is he an EOD specialist, but he's also a profiler. Like his wife.

"I'll be off now. See you all on monday."

"Okay! Happy Birthday Hyunsoo."

"Ahh Don't call me unless it's a real emergency."

He took his backpack and walked to his car when his phone rang. He took his phone out of his pocket and revealed his wife's name on display along with their picture.

Hyunsoo smiled and answered the video call.

"Oh jagiya? Is something wrong?"

"Why would there be something wrong? I'm about to spend the whole weekend with you and Eun Ha."

"You're that excited?"

"Of course. It's not everyday that we get to celebrate and spend time alone as a family."

"That's true. Are you done with work?"

"Almost. I just have to print and submit this document to Manager Kang."

"Okay. I just got off of work. I'll be there in about half an hour."

"I'll be waiting. I love you."

"I love you too. I'll see you later."

He hung up and drove to the NCI headquarters. Hyunsoo can't help but smile thinking that both him and Jiwon are so different when it comes to work. In Hyunsoo's police station, all they know is that he's married, but not to who he's married to. Same goes to Jiwon. They keep this information but not as a secret to their colleagues. They just don't like to publicize. If they get asked, they tell the truth, but otherwise, they just let it be. After about 20 minutes, Hyunsoo arrived at the NCI building. He texted Jiwon saying that he's already downstairs. he waited by the entrance seeing as it was raining a little and he doesn't want his wife to catch a cold. A couple of minutes later, his eyes were suddenly covered with hands he was quick to recognize. Yes he knows his wife's warmth all too well.

"Guess who?"

"Hmmm Do Hyun Soo's beautiful wife?"

"There's no thrill in making you question who I am."

"It's because I'd recognize you anywhere."
