Warm sheets wrapped over (y/n)'s skin. She wondered how she was not dead. Wasn't that last push she made supposed to use up the rest of her life force? She was no longer in the cemetery. She was again in her home. She was in her room. Sunlight filtered through her windows as she slowly got up. It was painful to move. She remembered. She can see. Her eyes had been restored. She, for the first time in almost two years, looked at herself in the mirror. To her surprise, she did not have as many scars as she believed she did. The ones left were the pale marks on her face. She still had the traditional pillar man garb on. But those were not the most striking feature on her anymore. Her eyes.
Her eyes were drastically different and beautiful. She got closer to the mirror to confirm it. It was true. Her eyes were not their original color, but a violet-red color. They seemed to have a sort of effect that drew her in as she kept looking at them. She pulled herself away from the mirror and listened to the sounds in her home. She heard people moving about. She closed her eyes once again and left her room. Carefully, she walked down the hall and the stairs. She ran her fingers over the walls as she walked through her childhood home. She was back home. (Y/n) felt a wave of ease wash over her.

Something made her stop. A feeling that something, Someone, was watching her. She removed her fingers from her wallpaper and reached out to meet a warm and rubbery mass in front of her. The scent was all too familiar with her, Santana. Her head tilted up to 'look' up at him. His sharp eyes stared at her, (y/n) could feel his gaze on her. His hand covered her smaller one on his chest. "Santana. What happened at the graveyard?," the young woman asked the ancient warrior before her. "We were able to get the stone thanks to you. Lord Kars used it on himself, Esidisi, Wamuu and I fled after the sun rose. Lord Kars is now subduing our enemies.," Santana explained, "we are staying here while the sun is out." A cold feeling of regret rose in her spine, her human friends were in danger because of her. She sent them into a death sentence. She should have died in the graveyard. Then she would not have to live with the regret of having her friends killed. Santana took her hand of his chest and held it, almost like he was studying it.
His grip was no longer demanding or tight.

(Y/n) opened her eyes to look at his hands holding hers. This was the first time she had looked at him without her stand. His skin was a greyish color. Santana reached his hand up and touched her cheek. "You worried me after you used your power. You could have died had we not intervened.," Santana spoke. He lightly tilted her head upwards to finally look at the eyes that had been healed. To see him with her eyes instead of her stand was amazing. He was even more handsome when she was looking at him face to face. Santana's face showed a break from his usual expression. His face was of surprise to see that the woman could see him. His eyes softened a little. "Do you fell any better?," Santana asked. "I do. Just a little sore.," the young woman replied. She could hardly form any sentences from a mixture of pain and being focused on the beauty of Santana's strong features.
"You're... very handsome.," she heard herself speak and felt his thumb rub her cheek. "Pretty.," Santana replied as he stared at the eyes of the young woman before him. They heard someone's footsteps approach before stopping by them. "You're finally awake, little lamb.," the raspy voice of Esidisi spoke and the young woman stubbornly closed her eyes so she could not see him. "What a strange form of rebellion.," Esidisi mused and walked closer, "We just have to wait for lord Kars to finish his mission." The dark skinned pillar man walked by the two, not even trying to tease the young woman for the first time.

Santana was still holding the young woman's cheek in his palm, stroking her soft skin with his thumb. The vermillion haired warrior pulled the young woman to come back to the basement where Wamuu was. The blond pillar man was looking at one of the animal encyclopedias he found on the bookshelves in the home. Wamuu's green eyes looked to the young woman, "(y/n). You're up. I thought that my efforts were in vain." "No. I just needed to sleep and heal.," the human woman replied and sat on the makeshift bed next to the warrior, "Animal encyclopedia?" Her new eyes looked over the page Wamuu was on. He was reading about the large and powerful mammals of the ocean. "Oh, whales. Fascinating creatures.," she smiled. Wamuu made a small nod and flipped the page to continue reading. The blond man spoke in his deep voice to her, "Santana must have told you that lord Kars is using his new powers to chase your human companions down. Joseph and the others ran after we obtained the stone." "He did tell me.," the young woman replied. Santana quietly sat down next to (y/n) and pulled her closer to him, away from her leaning on Wamuu's muscular arm.
Now he was acting demanding and harsh again, just like he used to. His grip on her tightened a bit as Wamuu looked back at him. "I am not trying to take her from you.," the blond warrior spoke to his companion as Santana huffed. (Y/n) was confused by this situation and looked between Santana and Wamuu. A tense energy seemed to spark between them. Santana was gripping her more now that Wamuu was looking at her. "Don't hurt her.," the blond spoke and turned back to his reading. Wamuu once again looked up from his book and turned to the two. He saw the confusion on the young woman's face.
