In the eyes of... Ciel Phantomhive

It was night by the time we arrived at the hotel. I looked up at the dark castle-like building. It gave off an eerie vibe. I looked at Sebastian.

"Why did you choose this place? It isn't like normal hotels.."

"I thought you may like the dark mood to match your soul." Sebastian teased.

I rolled my eyes.

We made our way through the small path in the wild garden. The gravel crackled under our feet.

Sebastian held the door for me and I walked into the lobby. The walls were coated in blood-red paint and the floor was a dark wood. There were strange looking paintings of children all around. They were smiling big but their eyes looked flat. I shivered.

"Hello, my name is Michael Schwartz and this is my son, Tom." Sebastian pulled me close to him as he spoke to the receptionist.

I couldn't ignore the tingling sensation in my stomach. His effect on me was astounding.

"I booked a room for two."

The dark haired receptionist flipped through a big book.

"Ah, here you are." He smiled a big smile.

I couldn't help but notice he, much like the paintings, had mat eyes. His smile was superficial and did not touch his eyes.

"Room 999 is all yours." He handed Sebastian a black key.

"Thank you very much." Sebastian said politely.

He picked up my suitcase and headed for the stairs.

"Come on, son." He smiled.

I ignored the wave of nausea and smiled.

I followed quickly.

Our room was massive. And strange. The floor was black and purple checkered. And all the furniture was black, some with silver details. It was unlike any room I'd ever seen before.

I saw the queen size bed next to the window and immediately wanted to sleep. It had been a long day. At least when I was asleep Sebastian couldn't turn me down.

"I'm tired. Get me ready for bed."

"Yes, my lord." Sebastian said.

I sat on the bed as Sebastian gently took off my clothes.

I watched him carefully though he was only focused on his job.

He took off my shirt so my upper body was naked.

Suddenly his dark red eyes glowed into a light pink.

My heart began to pound frantically. This meant he really still felt.. something, at least.

"Your eyes are glowing." I teased.

"It's an allergic reaction." Sebastian said joked.

"Right."

He began to chuckle a little.

He looked really beautiful when he smiled. His joy never made me feel so good before.

I started running my fingers through his hair and his eyes glowed brighter.

"Sebastian.." I whispered.

I caressed his cheek and he did not pull away.

"Master.."

"Please.." I pleaded as I came closer. I wanted nothing more than to kiss him again.

"Aren't you tired-"

"No." I lied.

Sebastian sighed and dressed me in my sleepshirt.

He then laid me down on the bed and hovered over me. He leaned closer and closer and then pressed his lips.. to my forehead.

I did not attempt to hide my disappointment.

"Goodnight, Bocchan."

"Seb-" Before I could even say his name the door was shut and Sebastian was gone.

I sighed in frustration.

***

The next morning was an awful one. I was in a bad mood and I felt the constant urge to throw things at Sebastian. I'd barely gotten any sleep last night. I'd spent the entire time thinking about that idiot demon.

It was around noon and Sebastian and I were about to head out for the investigation.

"So, are you going to put on my coat or not?" I tapped my foot impatiently.

"There is no need. The investigating shall be done right here in this hotel."

"What?"

"This hotel belongs to Howard Wickard."

My eyes grew wide in surprise.

That actually explained a lot. The strange paintings, the colors. Of course this hotel belonged to an insane person like Howard.

"This hotel is open to the public but there are also rumors that in the basement Howard throws his strange private parties . The hotel is just a cover-up. He's not staying here now but we may find some clues." Sebastian opened the door and we went to explore.

We stood in a dark purple hallway next to a large painting of a doll that looked like a child.. or child that looked like a doll..

We'd walked through the hotel many times now. We'd been in nearly every room, including the basement. The only rooms we'd avoided were the guest rooms. Could he really be hiding things in public rooms? He wouldn't be so bold, would he?

"And now? We have been looking for hours and we still haven't found a thing." I said irritated.

"It doesn't make any sense. I was sure we'd find something here."

"Wouldn't be the first time you were wrong about something." I crossed my arms and leaned against the painting.

Sebastian looked up at the painting.

"What was that?" He wondered.

"What?" I asked.

"I heard something.." Sebastian walked closer to the painting.

He knocked on it.

It sounded completely normal to me.

"It sounds different from the other walls.. Could it be.."

I moved away from the painting.

Sebastian lifted it off the wall and revealed a small door.

"I knew it."

Sebastian grabbed the handle of the door and opened it. It was dark inside so I couldn't see a thing.

"I'll go in first, you follow when I tell you it's safe."

I nodded.

Sebastian agilely crawled into the small space.

"And?" I asked after a while.

"Hm.. Just as I thought. Come on in, Bocchan."

I was more than curious to know what he was talking about.

I crawled through the door and was shocked at what I found.

The dark room had shelves on every wall. And every shelve had dozens of glass bottles filled with blood.
