Prologe

Elyssa's POV

I know I should be happy; my life is great. And most of the time I am, its just talking never helped me. I am a mute, and sometimes thats a good thing.

Most of my life happens in my head. I practically live in there; Always planning and storytelling and dreaming. Its nice just being in my own head; its my safe haven. Now don't get me wrong, I love my life outside of my head too.

My dad is one of the nicest people ever, which makes me wonder why mom left him. I have two awesome friends, twins actually. Kia and Sydney Dahlberg, daughters of Adam and Alesa Dalhberg, old family friends. They are enough to make any day a happy one. They are just so funny and sweet.

The only thing is they are always trying to get me to leave my safe haven, to talk, but it never works. I am bullied because I'm mute but it doesn't affect me. Mostly because I always have at least one twin with me in all my classes. I don't want to be protected like I'm a fragile thing; I can take care of myself. But its nice to know that they have my back.

Even though I'm mute it doesn't stop me from gaming and recording. My father never talked in any videos yet he was known very well. He was an animator, and I am too. Animating for me is just another way of sharing my thoughts with the world. Being mute opened my eyes to things I never noticed before. How much goes on in lives that is ignored because we are too busy for it. I usually talk to my friends by texting them or writing in my notebook to them. I'm allowed to text the teacher my answer if I'm called on for a question.

Most other kids don't think its fair and say I should have to talk like everyone else; They don't get it. I never thought this was going to happen to me. When I was about 10 something happened to me but I don't remember. I'm 16 now, after that I was mute and dad won't tell me what happened.

Anyway, there are my bully's. Three to be exact. Abigail, Raina and Amara. Abi is pretty much the lead tormentor and the other two follow her. Their main goal in life is to make mine miserable, but just as with my friends trying to get me to talk, it never works. (No affence if one of those is your name.)

Then there is Jason Probst, quarterback for the football team and my crush. Kia likes Jason's wide reciever and best friend Mitch Hughes. While Syd likes one of their friends who is kinda a nerd but still close, Tyler Christie. They are also all Youtubers like us.

Syd and Kia might have a chance but someone like Jason would never notice a little mute girl like me, especally since nobody other than Kia and Syd know that I have a Youtube. Sure people know me from Youtube but they don't know its me since I never speak.

Kia has brown wavy hair down to her elbows and brown eyes. Syd has blonde hair and hazel eyes, plus thick black glasses. I, on the other hand have brown wavy hair to my shoulders, bangs that go to the right, neon green highlights and eyes..

I'm finding my way in this world, even if I am a little slower than the rest, and I know someday I will solve my problems.
