"Are you lost miss? Heaven is far away from here."

The classroom was filled with laughter and gossip. The teacher hadn't come yet and the class took this as an opportunity to mess about.

Ophelia sat in the middle of the room and was talking to her two best friends; Madeline and Novae.

They were complete opposites.

Madeline was, for the lack of a better word, a rebel. She never wore the school uniform correctly. Her tie always laid across her chest uselessly untied. She had 5 piercings in her left ear and one on her right. She wore striking red lipstick that matched her fiery hair and personality. Heeled boots were always her go-to, along with fishnet stockings. She would ditch every class she could before she met the other two.

In contrast, Novae was the picture perfect student. She wore her uniform correctly, every crease was ironed out and she always had perpetually shiny shoes. Her long silky black hair was pulled back in her signature high ponytail. Her curtain fringe framed her oval face and further accentuated her beautiful hazel eyes. She was practically president of all the clubs in the school.

"Where were you this weekend?" Madeline asked, leaning toward Novae's hair and playing with the ebony strings as if unconsciously. Novae let her carry on playing, instead focusing her stare at Ophelia.

"My dad forgot to tell me I had a event to go to. It was super last minute and lasted the whole day. My phone ran out of battery after the second hour of dancing." She lied. "I'm sorry you guys." She pouted.

Novae scrunched up her nose adorably."Sounds horrible. Was Ivo with you?"

"Yes, Vo was. He was so handsome in that suit." Ophelia blushed at the image of fake Ivo in a suit.

Both Madeline and Novae shared a look.

"What?" Ophelia said, catching their look.

"I just don't know why you like him so much." Madeline said non-committally.

Ophelia laughed. "Like you can talk. I know all about your conquests."

Novae tensed at the subject.

"Yeah, but none of them bullied me all through the first half of high school." Madeline reasoned.

Ophelia rolled her eyes. "He's nicer now."

"Sure..." Novae drawled.

The light brown haired girl pouted. This conversation happened every week without fail.

"Teacher!" Someone yelled, forcing Novae and Madeline to abandon the topic and move to their seats. Ophelia gave them a grin and waved them away.

Ophelia didn't sit next to anyone and her friends were a few seats in front of her. Ivo sat directly in front of her, a fact that she cared more about than she would have liked.

"Sorry I'm late class, I was just getting the new student situated in this school." He smiled. "Come on in, Mr Ludovic."

A tall brunette strode into the room. His tie was loose and his shirt was untucked. He gave a striking smirk to the class. "Hey, I'm Montague Ludovic."

Some girls and a few boys around Ophelia started to chatter already talking about the new cute boy. Even Madeline glanced back at Ophelia, as if to say, "Why can't you fall for someone like him?"

"Ludovic, why don't you sit next to Miss Gracon over there." The teacher pointed at her.

Ophelia huffed, annoyed. She rather liked sitting alone. There was so much space on her desk to lay down and sleep on.
