"Ty! Where are we going?" You ask your boyfriend Tyler Seguin. It was Valentine's Day and you had been driving in what felt like circles for over and hour.
"Almost there baby girl. Just sit back and enjoy the view," he squeezed your hand reinsuring you.
"If you say so," you said pouting and looking out the window.
"Did you have a nice morning?" He asks you. He had surprised you with two dozen roses and a gift certificate to get a much needed mani and pedi while he was at practice.
"It was amazing. Thank you baby. Did you like the watch?" You had bought him the Rolex watch he had been talking about for weeks. It had cost you three weeks worth of paychecks, but it had been worth it.
"Of course I did. Thank you so much beautiful, and hey look were almost here!" He pulled onto a dirt road and contained to drive to a nearby field full of wildflowers.
"Where are we?" You asked as he opened the passenger side door and led you to a clearing in the flowers which had a blanket, cooler and a dozen of the palest pink roses you had ever seen.
"Happy Valentine's Day my love," he said before kissing you softly.
"Tyler. Ohmygosh. This is absolutely amazing." You gushed and sat down on the blanket. He reached into the cooler and handed you a strawberry lemonade, your favorite drink.
You both talked quietly while enjoying each others company. The sun started to set and Tyler shifted, taking his arm off of your shoulder and making you look at him.
"Babe, we need to talk," he started looking you dead in the eye. A thousand things raced through your head, he wouldn't break up with you would he? You but your lip nervously. "(Y/F/N Y/M/N Y/L/N) you have brought joy into my life since I was hardly playing professional hockey. You have stood by me every step of this journey and it's hard to believe you put up with my partying, mood swings, the move to Dallas and all the little things in between. I can't imagine the rest of my life without you. Will you marry me?" He took a knee and held up a diamond ring that had to have cost more than your yearly salary.
Wiping a year from your eye, you quickly stood up. You looked down on him and with an ever growing smile, you accept. He places the ring on your left hand before you can even admire it, he has you in his arms and is spinning you in a circle. He kisses you deeply.
Then you hear them. The Dallas stars hockey team with video cameras, cellphones, and balloons. All screaming, laughing, stomping through the flowers and ruining the peace.
"Segs is getting hitched!" Jodie Benn shouted once they got close enough.
"You told them?" you ask Tyler, trying to hide back your laughter.
"I told Jamie. Not any of these fools." He whispers in your ear.
"Well. Let's see this ring (Y/N)?" Jamie asks.
You proudly show them your left hand. They all let out girly squeals and start talking at once.
"I guess if you're marrying me, you're marrying them as well." He laughs.
"I'm okay with that," you kiss Tyler again, and smile at this unexpected evening.
