It was a normal day as any other in Dowling major, all the employees were pretty swamped with their everyday activities specially a red-haired nanny. She was annoyed due to the child who she was taking care of.
They had spent a great dealt of that morning doing any kind of mischiefs. Emptying all the trash cans, messing with the beds which had been recently made by the maids, drawing moustaches, beards and horns in some of the house portraits, were just some of the shenanigans they had performed together and it is almost unnecessary to say that the nanny was rather pleased with this; not every day you get to help to raise the antichrist and get a lot of people angry at the same time. A part of her job as the devilish nanny who was assigned to take care of Satan's son was to be sure the kid gets a lot of bad influence in his early years.
At the same time she knows, the kid hasn't been receiving only bad influences. She was in the child's bedroom ordering him to clean it, of course, the kid needs to misbehave but he can't disobey his nanny, he knows very well there would be huge consequences if he does. The Aantichrist, whose human name was Warlock was picking toys up completely ignoring his nanny, she was laying in a sofa near the window looking through this one, it seemed like she was expecting something to happen but what could it be?
Maybe, to see a short, kind of chubby, white-haired man appear and just by a small miracle he would look up, see that she is up there and he would smile at her but no just any smile but one that is real, full of joy to bright her day up a bit.
-Yup, ain't going to happen soon- she said in a grave voice louder that intended catching the kid's attention.
-What did you say nanny?- the boy asked staring at his nanny expecting an answer.
-Oh...nothing dear. I...mumble something to myself. Don't pay attention to that.
-You spoke to yourself?- Warlock asked back
-Yes darling- she replied staring at the kid.
-Is it...something grown ups do?
-Yes darling, some grown ups need to...speak their minds to themselves.
-Why?The nanny, who we will call Ashtoreth, was starting to lose her nerves due to the kid's questions but she wouldn't allow him to know that, curiosity is something precious that only kids were allowed to enjoy without limits and she won't kill that quality in any kid far less, the antichrist.
She sighed and said: -Sometimes, when adults are alone without no one to speak to they feel like they need to fill in the silence with the sound of their own voice and their ideas just flow.
The kid stared at her, seemed quite sastified with Ashtoreth's answers until he opened his mouth once more.
-But...
-Warlock,-she interrupted him, her patience was low at the moment for more questions- have you finished cleaning up?
-Oh, yes nanny. See?The boy stood up in the middle of an impecable room neither toys nor dirty clothes were found in the floor or bed...or ceiling. Nanny Ashtoreth looked pleased, she released the air in her lungs and calmed herself for a moment before the boy spoke again.
-Now what nanny?
-What do you mean dear?
- I cleaned my room, I finished my homework we did lots of things this morning and I think everybody in the house is mad at us. What do we do now?Nanny Ashtoreth looked at the boy, she was trying to come up with something else to do and also an excuse to leave the house when suddenly behind the boy she saw the answer to her questions.
-You know darling?-she said standing up from the sofa and approaching the reason of her idea- You're right everybody inside the house hates us right now. What if we go outside where nobody hates us...yet.- She hadn't even completed the sentence when a brand new kite was flashing in front of Warlock's eyes a smile appeared in the boy's face and this made Ashtoreth smile back.
