I found a place where I could hide, or at least drop the man so he wouldn't know where I am.

I sat down and dug through my backpack to see If I had any water. I had a bottle, but it was almost finished and I dont think that would be enough. I drank the last bit of water. I had $25 in my bag (along with drachmas), and there was a convenience store right infront of where I was sitting. I went throught the back entrance and got some snacks, a few bottles of water, and a couple blankets for sleeping, since I'd be sleeping in the cold. I had $2.05 leftover, so I donated it to a charity I passed by on the street.

It was getting dark, so I decided to find a comfy spot behind a store and slept there. But I couldn't sleep. A woman came out of the back door.

"Oh my, you must be freezing! Here you can stay with me for the night." I looked at the woman. She looked really nice, and she never tried to hurt me.

"Are you sure? I mean its okay, I'll be fine."

"No really, come. I'll keep you warm and give you a good meal."

"Oh-okay, sure." I get up and take all my stuff and we start walking to her house.

"So what's your name?" she asks me.

"Oh- uhh Faith."

"Well nice to meet you. Im Nancy." she looks at me. "Do you have a home?"

"Yeah, I guess, its just I ran away." I didn't really wanna talk about it. We walked in silence for a while until we reached her house.

"Well, we're here!" Her house was a huge mansion. I was actually excited to go inside.

She looked at me. "Go on in!"

I walked in.

She has the biggest front hall- a crystal chandelier hanging from the high ceilings, classic Hardwood floors, pretty much glass EVERYTHING. I just stared at this beautiful room. I wondered why she worked at a convenience store when she lived in such a huge house.

She walked in behind me. She told me to take off my shoes and to put my stuff down wherever I wanted, so I did. She showed me the kitchen and the living room, and the bathrooms, and the room I'd be sleeping in. It was so cozy. She started making a meal that smelled so good! It turned out she was making chicken with rice and carrots, and it was so good! She let me watch TV all night. We laughed and talked together. We fell asleep on the couch.

The next morning, I woke up at 6:30 am. Nancy was still asleep, so I got up and looked around. She left a note on the fridge saying: 'Have what you want' so I opened the fridge and had a glass of pink lemonade. I sat there quietly until 7:00. Finally, Nancy woke up.

"Good morning to you." she said, stretching.

"Morning. How'd you sleep?" I reply.

"Good. What about you?"

"Good thanks."

"When did you wake up?" she asks me.

"6:30."

"Do you always wake up then?" She looks shocked.

"Yeah. I'm an early bird." We sat in silence for a while until she got up to go get dressed, and so did I. I only had 2 outfits, that's all I could fit in my bag, so I changed in to my new clothes. I checked my phone and Savannah, Percy, Piper, Annabeth, Leo, and Hazel all texted me asking where I went. Leo's smoke- chicken nugget screen really works so we can text all we want.

I got a call from a number I don't know, Its probably just a sales call, as usual. I thought. But this number looked oddly familliar.

I ran down the stairs, and Nancy was on the phone with her mom. When she hung up I sat beside her.

"How old are you?" I ask.

"Me? Oh, I'm 18. What about you?" Nancy says.

"Im almost 15. 3 more days."

"Nice!"

We watched TV for a while, then we played games.

By the time it was dark, we ate dinner and watched a movie. I looked at the time-

1:28 am

The doorbell rang.
