The First Step (Male! Raya x Reader)

Chapter 1: Ram and (Y/N)

The next day, both of you playfully tagged each other. Ram rolled on the ground, startling the person who walked past them. Your feet slid on the smooth floor as you tried to catch Ram but he dodged your hand smoothly. 

"(Y/N), Be careful or you will trip." (F/N) said as he walked beside Benja. 

"Yes, Pa." You responded as you stopped playing. 

Benja watched his son throw punches in the air excitedly. "Well, someone's excited."

"Well, yeah!" He picked Tuk Tuk up as he said to his father. "I mean, anyone hoping to steal the Dragon Gem now has to face the fury of the four baddest blades in all the lands." Tuk Tuk climbed on his shoulder as he stated proudly. 

"We're the team! No one can defeat us!" You raised your voice happily as Ram watched you with adoring.

"I'm glad you feel prepared, Dewdrop because we have something important to tell both of you." He gestured to (F/N) as he cleared his throat and told the kids. 

"The other lands, they're on their way here, as we speak." 

You frowned in worry and doubtful of the news. "They are? Uh..." Ram stopped for a moment before he caught up with his father. "Okay. Okay, no, we can do this. I'm ready. We know exactly how we'll stop them."

"Yes!" You exclaimed as you tried to be courageous. 

"Really, Moonlight?" You turned to him as he called you by your nickname. "Then tell us what you two know about the other lands." 

You nudged his arm as you let him say first. Ram nodded as he began to explain what he knew about the kingdoms. "First... Tail. A sweltering desert with sneaky mercenaries who fight dirty."

"So we need to be careful." You stated this as a warning. 

"Second, Talon. A floating market famous for fast deals and fighters with even faster hands."

"I always dream of going there, maybe if we united with Talon, we can visit there." You said dreamily as you always dreamed to see the colorful view of Talon. Ram sighed at your childishness but admired it at the same time. You then told the fathers about the last two kingdoms. "Third, Spine. A frigid bamboo forest, guarded by exceptionally large warriors, with their giant axes! And the fourth and last but not least, Fang."

"Our fiercest enemy. A nation protected by angry assassins and their even angrier cats!" You startled as Tuk Tuk hissed, imitating a cat. Ram laughed at your startle before he placed him back on his shoulder. 

All of you reached the kitchen as Ram began to explain his plan while you were listening. "So we're gonna need some crossbows and catapults and... Ooh! What do you think about flaming catapults, (Y/N)?!"

"Maybe we should use a net to capture them." You suggested Ram frowned as he kind of disagreed with your idea. 

"We know a way for that, kids." (F/N) said, gaining both of your attention as you quickly went beside your father and chief Benja who approached the pot with boiling water. 

"How about shrimp paste from Tail, lemongrass from Talon, bamboo shoots from Spine, chilis from Fang, and palm sugar from Heart?" Benja poured the ingredients into the pot but he couldn't find the palm sugar, the last ingredient. "Where's the palm sugar?" 

(F/N) noticed it as he poured it with his fingers.

"We'll poison them?" asked Ram, you hit his arm as you scolded him. 

"That's so cruel!" 

The fathers chuckled at their children, Benja then explained to his son. "No, we're not going to poison them and we're not going to fight them. We're going to share a meal with them." Benja poured the soup into four bowls for the kids, (F/N), and himself.
