Ava's POV:
The October air was chilly as we walked through the city on our way home. Our arms were crossed behind us with Leon having a hand on my waist, holding me close to him, whilst I had my hand buried deep in his back pocket. Neither one of us talking as we simply enjoyed being in the others company, basking in the still autumn night. The sun had long ago set, and now the sky was pitch black with the moon gently lighting the world around us and lamp posts guiding us through the streets like aeroplane runways. The stars were stammeringly beautiful tonight; the silver minuscule diamonds were scattered across the dark eternal void like bejewelled grains of sand as they pulsated in silence.
We'd spent our evening in the arcades, reliving our childhoods. The arcades were dark, only illuminated by the fluorescent lights of the machines that were dotted around the spacious area. All around us the constant sounds of the games circulated as we made our way from machine to machine, attempting to entice us to play. We mostly stuck to the slot machines, although after a lot of begging I managed to get Leon onto a dance machine, where I was surprised to learn that the man's got some moves. I'd forgotten how competitive he was, and there were a few near wins on his part, but he was never a sore loser. Instead, he would pull me in for a kiss on the head by gently holding my cheeks with his soft giant hands and congratulate me.
Our first date since getting back together had gone without a hitch so far, with our last date being the Summer Ball, and we all know how that went down. But rather than being worried about there being another disaster, I decided to put the past behind me and instead focussed on the now. I fully trusted Leon and knew that he wouldn't hurt me again, but I couldn't help the occasional feeling of vulnerability creep in. I'd taken a leap of faith in him and in us, but my overthinking brain would sometimes stray and wander into the dangerous zones of what ifs and maybes. What if he got bored of me? What if I wasn't enough for him anymore? Maybe he'd rather be with someone who can give him what I can't? It was a never-ending dialogue and I'd have to fight internally with myself to shut my brain off from thinking such pessimistic thoughts.
"Ava, baby?" Leon's voice echoed in my ears as it brought me out of my thoughts. I blinked and turned my head up to look at him and found him looking down at me with amusement in his eyes. I'd spaced out and got completely lost in my thoughts. He let out a small laugh and lightly shook his head.
"I said, are you coming into mine?" The faint light around us caught in his eyes, highlighting their beautiful honey hue, as he looked down at me. He really did have the most unique eyes I'd ever seen, and I felt lucky that they were only for me.
We'd just approached the pillar of the wall that separated our houses from one another when I stopped us from walking any further by standing in front of him with my arms now wrapped around his neck. A playful smile befell my face as I thought about what was to come. "Don't ask silly questions babe, you know I am."
Our heads moved towards the other, and just as our lips were about to touch, I turned away and dashed for the front door, letting out a devilish giggle. Leon was hot on my heels and just as I reached the top step, he swept me off my feet, inciting a squeal to escape my lips, and fireman carried me into his home. The warmth of his house quickly engulfed us and the sensation that I had lost in my fingers and toes soon returned.
I wasted no time in making a move on Leon. As soon as the door was closed and I was back on my feet, I grabbed his hand and pulled him to the room I wanted to be in. I figured that if I wanted things to go further, then I had to take charge, I had to take the lead, otherwise he might stop us from going to the next level and I didn't want that anymore. I both wanted and needed him to satisfy me in the way I so desperately craved.
I'd taken him into his office, and once we'd entered the room, I was all over him like a rash. Pulling him in closer to me by the waistband of his jeans, I tucked my fingers underneath the fabric, making contact with his warm skin. A hungry desire burned between us as our lips crashed together and our tongues intertwined. It wasn't enough to sate my craving, but I had to be patient and pace myself.
